  • Hockey players- hands down the most skilled athletes out there. Intelligent & respectful. Takes a certain breed. Anyone can jump put a ball in a hoop, anyone can catch & throw a ball then jog back to a huddle, anyone can kick a ball. Anyone who wants to talk about hockey throw on skates & skate as hard as you can for 1 min- wouldn’t make it 30 seconds and let’s throw in a hit!! :whistling: Your never in complete control as you can loose an edge, plus taking a hit on ice, Not giving. They play broken, never bitch & play for the love of the game! What happens on the ice - stays on the ice.. not anyone can strap on skates and go.

    NBA that’s a joke sport!

I Have No more toys, just memories.... :/

  • LOL Sounds like you took that kind of personal Bones. "Intelligent and respectful"...more like "Neanderthal perhaps?" Respectful? Nah, I've seen too many spit on each other, vulgar...we can agree to disagree on this topic. We'd be going backwards, as we discussed this one before.

FYI-I think most athletes play for the love of the game until they are tainted by all the trappings..money, big lights, drugs, fame, the "I" greater than the team, betting/gambling..... I don't think any sport has escaped these things unfortunately. Heck, it's made it's way down to kids little league games sadly lol

  • Yeah, being my son is a hard hitting good little hockey player ZOR, he’s pretty skilled & what he does on ice with training, practice is pretty amazing for a 13 year old. Most kids don’t make it @ hockey, but yeah not worth the back and forth, like you mentioned. My experience has been nothing but class with NHL players leave it @ that. I would hope athletes would play for the love of the game, what they get & life style is rediculous, most of us would give a limb for a fraction of there life...Very fortunate to get millions to play a game they love. That’s why I laugh when “trappings” get them. I wish I could live knowing there’s always thousand/ millions in my account, can tell you that I would be humble & smart- no nonsense...the old don’t know what ya got till it’s gone !

I Have No more toys, just memories.... :/

  • AMEN!! Keep encouraging your son...we all know the numbers for making the pros. Believe it or not, almost the same for basketball. Athleticism, talent, skill, sheer determination, work ethic and chosen sport IQ can pave the way to a paid college education and pro career! It's amazing how many kids I've seen from almost every sport lose their way for one reason or the other. I wish they could have seen all the opportunities that their chosen sport could open the doors if they would have just stayed focused and believed. I've always told my children that their jobs were school, everything else was a bonus, I didn't care how good they were at it. I made sure their coaches understood that they were CAA (Christian Academic Athletes)...one coach said "Well, you might want to tell your son that because he believes in knocking the snot out of kids every time he puts on those pads!" LOL I told the coach, I never said he couldn't be "competitive"!

If your son is 13, loving the sport, has the talent and is coachable--support him!! Show him all the players who've avoided the pitfalls. Tell him to always find a way to keep loving the game and having fun. When everyone else is leaving the ice early, take advantage of the time to work on "his game". Above all things, never be afraid to fail. Sometimes kids feel like they can't make a mistake but that's how they learn but if possible learn in practice. I'll take a coachable kid over a 5-star kid that can't be coached any day! I'm sure you've said all these things and more to him. If you're like me you won't sugar coat anything to your son, or pretend to tell him that he's good. You'll let him know that he has potential but if he's not working, that potential means nothing. If he's working with that potential, he can be something special! That's what we do as parents..be honest, loving and supportive.

  • Im Guilty @Zorasmiles , Im his biggest Critic......There were times I felt awful after getting on my kid. I know his potential and expect to much from him. I forget he's a kid sometimes. I put so much effort, money into him to be the best he can And always there to play, pass, teach unlike my pops did for me (from that aspect) , Im a big kid, Im that dad / coach the kids all like. 55' Batting cage in yard (all star catcher) broke my heart when he said he didn't wanna play BB anymore, Hockey (has synthetic ice, nets, dangles etc) is his passion, but LAX ( nets, pounce backs) grew on him big this year. I refuse to coach anymore as Im roughest on my son when on the bench. Im also a believer in you PLAYED GREAT or YOU SUCKED. But something I do well, learned from coaching other kids is to give positive followed by how we adjust or fix something else without bringing him down. When I don't say much after a game he knows Im disappointed. I know at the end of the day, even though a good skater, Physical player he won't go anywhere cause there's always those more gifted players in bigger organizations. Now LAX he has potential as he can run, cut and juke real well. Once you can do it on the ice land comes easy. He see's things and moves real quick after having a split second to make a Hockey decision so the sports go hand in hand. Colleges are going after LAX players as sport is taking off big time. As long as he's Polite, friendly, Keeps getting honors and doing well with his sports he'll be left alone, falls off the horse or ever goes another path -He's Outta here!!

Now my daughter-lets just say she's not as gifted @ sports tries, but it is what it is...She's just a sassy little bitch right now at 9 :whistling::00008356: ,But I still love her ...........................................................most of the time :00008359:

  • On Friday, the Trump administration released their annual report to Congress on White House Office Personnel. It includes the name, status, salary and position title of all 377 White House employees.

The report also said that Trump decided not to take a dime of his salary ; instead he donated it to an amazing cause! See below

The report also showed that President Trump is far better at saving money than Obama was. The total annual White House salaries under Trump are $35.8 million vs. $60.9 million under Obama, a savings of $25.1 million. Here are some other key findings:

There are 140 fewer employees on White House staff under Trump than under Obama at this point in their respective presidencies.

Thirty-nine fewer staffers are also dedicated to The First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS). Currently, there are only five staffers dedicated to Melania Trump vs. forty-four staffers who served Michelle Obama (FY2009)

However, it's what the report said Trump did with this salary that has everyone talking.

Instead of taking his salary, Trump donated all $400,000 to the Department of the Interior where it will be used for construction and repair needs at military cemeteries! AMAZING! It's so great to have a President who loves our brave military men and women so much!

Oh, and where's the media coverage of this? That's right, they don't cover anything decent that the President does...

BUT WE WILL! PLEASE, PASS THIS MESSAGE ON TO ALL YOUR EMAIL PALS AND OTHERS! TOGETHER, WE'LL GET THE MESSAGE OUT

  • Phil you forgot to mention that most of the places he donates his salary $400k to, National Parks, Veterans... , he has defunded by millions. It's great that he is giving, but if I cut you on purpose, let you bleed a lot, am I a hero if I give you a pint of blood while you bleed? His tax cuts alone make him personally a lot more money than the 400k he is giving away.

  • No, but I would say that he being a millionaire not needing the money and donating it to worthy causes is a lot better than his predecessor having an office full of assistants for his wife, a dog trainer, two calligraphers (shall I go on) feeding millions of dollars a year off the teats of the American taxpayer.

    Nobody gets outta here ALIVE

I too found it ridiculous. Nobody needs that many personal assistants.

I also find it ridiculous that many in this thread defend Trump on things they complained about feverishly when Dems doing them. I also find it ridiculous and quite childish to use "they did it, look what they did, what about them" to defend poor behavior of another. The Obama's aren't in office, the Clinton's aren't in office. Focus on the guy who is. He is and has always been all about himself, period. Try watching his hand that isn't waving a card in the air. ;)

I might not be right but I can sure sound like it

  • The mayor of Livermore California explains Trump's popularity and success. This is perhaps the best explanation for Trump's popularity ....

Marshall Kamena is a registered Democrat and was elected mayor of Livermore, CA.. He ran on the democratic ticket as he knew a Bay Area city would never vote for a Republican. He is as conservative as they come. He wrote the following:

Trump's 'lack of decorum, dignity, and statesmanship' By Marshall Kamena, Mayor of Livermore, CA.

My Leftist friends (as well as many ardent #NeverTrumpers) constantly ask me if I'm not bothered by Donald Trump's lack of decorum. They ask if I don't think his tweets are "beneath the dignity of the office."

Here's my answer: We Right-thinking people have tried dignity. There could not have been a man of more quiet dignity than George W. Bush as he suffered the outrageous lies and politically motivated hatreds that undermined his presidency.

    We tried statesmanship.

Could there be another human being on this earth who so desperately prized "collegiality" as John McCain?

We tried propriety – has there been a nicer human being ever than Mitt Romney?

And the results were always the same. This is because, while we were playing by the rules of dignity, collegiality and propriety, the Left has been, for the past 60 years, engaged in a knife fight where the only rules are those of Saul Alinsky and the Chicago mob.

I don't find anything "dignified," "collegial" or "proper" about Barack Obama's lying about what went down on the streets of Ferguson in order to ramp up racial hatreds because racial hatreds serve the Democratic Party.

I don't see anything "dignified" in lying about the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi and imprisoning an innocent filmmaker to cover your tracks.

I don't see anything "statesman-like" in weaponizing the IRS to be used to destroy your political opponents and any dissent.

Yes, Obama was "articulate" and "polished" but in no way was he in the least bit "dignified," "collegial" or "proper."

The Left has been engaged in a war against America since the rise of the Children of the '60s. To them, it has been an all-out war where nothing is held sacred and nothing is seen as beyond the pale.. It has been a war they've fought with violence, the threat of violence, demagoguery and lies from day one – the violent take-over of the universities – till today.

The problem is that, through these years, the Left has been the only side fighting this war. While the Left has been taking a knife to anyone who stands in their way, the Right has continued to act with dignity, collegiality and propriety.

With Donald Trump, this all has come to an end. Donald Trump is America 's first wartime president in the Culture War.

During wartime, things like "dignity" and "collegiality" simply aren't the most essential qualities one looks for in their warriors. Ulysses Grant was a drunk whose behavior in peacetime might well have seen him drummed out of the Army for conduct unbecoming.

Had Abraham Lincoln applied the peacetime rules of propriety and booted Grant, the Democrats might well still be holding their slaves today.

Lincoln rightly recognized that, "I cannot spare this man. He fights."

General George Patton was a vulgar-talking.. In peacetime, this might have seen him stripped of rank. But, had Franklin Roosevelt applied the normal rules of decorum then, Hitler and the Socialists would barely be five decades into their thousand-year Reich.

Trump is fighting. And what's particularly delicious is that, like Patton standing over the battlefield as his tanks obliterated Rommel's, he's shouting, "You magnificent bastards, I read your book!"

That is just the icing on the cake, but it's wonderful to see that not only is Trump fighting, he's defeating the Left using their own tactics. That book is Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals – a book so essential to the Liberals' war against America that it is and was the playbook for the entire Obama administration and the subject of Hillary Clinton's senior thesis.

It is a book of such pure evil, that, just as the rest of us would dedicate our book to those we most love or those to whom we are most indebted, Alinsky dedicated his book to Lucifer.

Trump's tweets may seem rash and unconsidered but, in reality, he is doing exactly what Alinsky suggested his followers do. First, instead of going after "the fake media" — and they are so fake that they have literally gotten every single significant story of the past 60 years not just wrong, but diametrically opposed to the truth, from the Tet Offensive to Benghazi, to what really happened on the streets of Ferguson, Missouri — Trump isolated CNN.. He made it personal.

Then, just as Alinsky suggests, he employs ridicule which Alinsky described as "the most powerful weapon of all."... Most importantly, Trump's tweets have put CNN in an untenable and unwinnable position. ... They need to respond.

This leaves them with only two choices. They can either "go high" (as Hillary would disingenuously declare of herself and the fake news would disingenuously report as the truth) and begin to honestly and accurately report the news or they can double-down on their usual tactics and hope to defeat Trump with twice their usual hysteria and demagoguery. The problem for CNN (et al.) with the former is that, if they were to start honestly reporting the news, that would be the end of the Democratic Party they serve. It is nothing but the incessant use of fake news (read: propaganda) that keeps the Left alive.

Imagine, for example, if CNN had honestly and accurately reported then-candidate Barack Obama's close ties to foreign terrorists (Rashid Khalidi), domestic terrorists (William Ayers & Bernardine Dohrn), the mafia (Tony Rezko) or the true evils of his spiritual mentor, Jeremiah Wright's church.

Imagine if they had honestly and accurately conveyed the evils of the Obama administration's weaponizing of the IRS to be used against their political opponents or his running of guns to the Mexican cartels or the truth about the murder of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and the Obama administration's cover-up.

So, to my friends on the Left — and the #NeverTrumpers as well — do I wish we lived in a time when our president could be "collegial" and "dignified" and "proper"? Of course I do.

These aren't those times. This is war. And it's a war that the Left has been fighting without opposition for the past 50 years.

So, say anything you want about this president - I get it - he can be vulgar, he can be crude, he can be undignified at times. I don't care. I can't spare this man. He fights for America!

  • Threecontractors are bidding to fix a broken fence at the White House.
Oneis from Chicago, another is from Kentucky, and the third is from NewOrleans. All three go with a White House official to examine the fence.
TheNew Orleans contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, thenworks some figures with a pencil.
"Well,"he says, "I figure the job will run about $9,000. That's $4,000 formaterials, $4,000 for my crew and $1,000 profit for me."
TheKentucky contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, "Ican do this job for $7,000. That's $3,000 for materials, $3,000 for my crew and$1,000 profit for me."
TheChicago contractor doesn't measure or figure, but leans over to the White Houseofficial and whispers, "$27,000."
Theofficial, incredulous, says, "You didn't even measure like the other guys. How did you come up with such a high figure?â€
"TheChicago contractor whispers back, "$10,000 for me, $10,000 for you, and wehire the guy from Kentucky to fix the fence."
    "Done!"replies the government official.
Andthat, my friends, is how the Government works.
Remember...Three boxes keep us free: the soap box, the ballot box, and the jury box.

"Ilove my country; it's the government I'm afraid of!"
