  • I'd fire your ass in a heartbeat because you think just like big money does. All they do is get the gov to make them money so they don't have to get off their dead asses and make it themselves. Hey wait! We could give them all a trillion dollars for their failures to cheat the American people out of money, oh wait, that's already been done.

Thanks for the input War Hoop. Not everyone who puts there life into building a business makes big money. It takes a big risk, long days nights and many fears. My father owned a small business. Worked everyday, even the single holiday the business was not open he had to go into the business to check that compressors were operating properly to avoid product loss. When you make money you have to save because there is no guarantee tomorrow will be as kind.

Tough life, takes guts, more fail than succeed. I admire anyone who takes the risk to succeed and has the ability to support other jobs and make other life's better.

I built my life working weekends at age ten, then typically a 30 hour work week in high school at times held three jobs at once. To include drying cars at a car wash in my early thirty's after getting off from my primary job in order to have a deposit on a home. Had lots of condescending looks. But i smiled and thanked anyone for tips next day got up to do it again. My ladder to success was to exceed expectations with no expectations.

It worked, I made it. I like everyone I worked for & with.

  • Thanks for that reply. I'm retired now and didn't appreciate my $45.00 dollar tax refund this year. Then I had to pay the tax prep person $170.00 to do my taxes. That's what life is like for lower income people. We pay so the gov and the corporations can prosper.

  • Thanks for that Frankie55 - IMO that kind of work ethic is a distant memory in most of today’s youth contributing to the rise in pro socialism policies. Your story is what made America great !! War Hoop - with all due respect it is hard for me to believe that you would be considered “low income” - after all you can afford a Slingshot which is a luxury that many cannot afford and would only be a dream !!!

I might not be right but I can sure sound like it

I'll bet we have a lot in common! I do know what its like to eat plane toast in the morning, Couldn't even afford peanut butter! Pasta without sauce & eggs for protein, no insurance. And....the government offered no assistance. Nor did my father, response was "you have two hands, you can do it". :)

That was kind of a stupid thing to say... One 15,000.00 to 20,000.00 dollar item doesn't even come close to the now becoming defunct America dream. But I'm not going to prove you wrong by living in a tent by the river eating crawdads while you eat steak in your fancy house. People need to wake up and understand that America is being lead in the wrong direction and you guys need to start speaking Chinese so you can communicate with your next president.

  • I worked more 100 hour weeks than I care to remember to obtain what I have. War Hoop i’m quite sure you worked hard for whatever you have accumulated also - that was my point - just some get better breaks. BTW crawdads are a delicacy at my dinner table. :00008172:

I am watching you and I have noticed that during your last post and this one you have not fixed any of America's problems. I would like to see you make a trip to DC and take a picture of yourself there. Post it here so I can say I've seen one person in DC that gives a shit. Please include a photo of your crawdad as well so we will know it's really you. If this pic is not published here in the next 24 hours YOUR FIRED! 8o

"you have two hands, you can do it"

you guys just gave me chills,... in a good way,... it put a smile on my face. That's what this country is about, put the work in and you will be paid. Doesn't matter what you do for work, as long as it's work. I'm OK with the guy down the street making more, just means he put more effort into it then me. I'm happy, thanks for the smile

Sorry but the Democrats would label me a lunatic but if I could be king for a day I would:

1.) Abolish the IRS and institute a national sales tax.

2.) Decree the government has to have a balanced budget with a plan to reduce the national debt included.

3.) No elected official can serve more than 2 terms.

4.) Everyone on welfare or food stamps has to work (community service - childcare for those that do work - anything productive) and be drug tested - failing a test you are on your own.

5.). Legalize pot and prostitution - can’t stop it - why spend resources for incarceration.

6,) A woman has the right to abortion during the first trimester - after that only in cases to save the mothers life - case closed.

7.) Outlaw Super PACs and lobbyist

8.) The 2nd Amendment stands - criminals are going to do what criminals do - let the good guys protect theimselves and families.

9.) Implement the same laws Mexico uses to deal with illegal immigrants - Dreamers go to the end of the line on a pathway to citizenship.

10.) Lawmakers have to live under the same laws they pass for us to follow - I.e. healthcare, retirement packages.

I think I could get all that done by lunch - crawdads and gumbo!! Is that a decent start ??

I might not be right but I can sure sound like it

  • Do you think you could get it passed? That would be a lot of politicians out of what they call a job. When are you going to run for President?

  • Way da go Frankie55 ! Well said! It will be a great day when/if economics are taught in our schools again. Sadly they are not. I consider my self a “Smithian” considering Adam Smith’s “invisible hand” to be brilliant!

I am 29 years now in business and very grateful for the support of my family. My great grandparents came here on ships with nothing but the clothes on their backs and a dream and a work ethic. They worked their asses off in mills and built their own houses. Raised families to work hard, be God fearing and generous. They paved the way for me as I have tried for my family. My daughter now has her own business a little over a year now. She is still struggling but her tenacity is great and I/we are convinced this American imagrant family will see her American dream come true.

My dad would get his hackles up big time if someone said “well you got it easy”! As he started his first business at 55. My dad’s father used to cut tires and re-sole his shoes and do for the neighbors if any was left over in a Pittsburgh steel town. He had one shirt and pair of pants and shoes. He put himself through college and got his PHD AND MASTERS degree at the same time while working nights. I don’t say this to be “showy” or brag. Just that thank God if you really want something- are willing to put the time in, then this great experiment called America is still a place where it is possible.

We’ll get there when we get there and not a minute before. 😎

  • these days no one seems to care what skeletons one might have unless of course you tried to kiss a girl without asking first - - if you did that they will try to f u right up the - - - -

seriously you could have been a total drug addict and that wouldn't matter, but if you acted like a normal male you would be toast
