I'm just a typical American Mutt - - had one of those DNA tests done and it was pretty much a waste of money didnt come back with much of anything very specific - primarily said "Northern European" - if you go by my parents and grandparents last names we get European, Scottish & possibly Irish, but again there was not enough of any one of these to really pin anything down where I can proclaim myself of a certain decent - - like I said American Mutt and damn proud of it
So now what I want to know when do us mutts get a special day? I mean What the fuck? I'm pretty sure us mutts outnumber pure breeds by pretty big amount so why dont we get a day?

I personally think that for a large part as new young generations come into the world and the older generations (the ones that fought against these things and saw the horrors of a world war) die off and leave the world the reasons that were learned as to how any why socialism and communism won't work and the evil that they will lead too are simply being forgotten.
We now have new people who haven't seen the failures of these systems first hand, they haven't seen the corruption involved and they haven't seen or paid the cost of having to undo these things once they take hold like the generations before me did and now days even the people who were there are no longer with us to even teach the lessons learned - - - all we have is the idyllic dreams that caused people to make the mistakes in the first place.
When you lose the older generations that actually had to pay the price of fixing the mistakes of going down the road and trying those systems then the youth no longer have anyone they know and trust to tell them why they shouldn't try them again

World wide the leading cause of death is still Heart Disease... I thought it was interesting that 39 countries in the world have a longer life expectancy that we do...

No they do not have the amount of fast food chains we do, nor do they consume the amount of fast food we do. That is not to say they don't eat it, just not in the super size we do.
I know you were just joking, but the countries ahead of us mostly eat foods of their countries... like rice, soups, vegetables, cheese, fruits, but I did not see goat... (Greatest of all time: McDonalds) on the menu...

They don't have as much food as we do period. Less food, more physical labor, less AC, more walking less screen time, etc. Being a prosperous nation has made us fat and lazy. It would be interesting to see if the high inflation has lowered the average calorie intake in the US.

I would say we really need to define prosperous.... as there is a great difference between being prosperous and being rich/wealthy.

The key difference between prosperity and wealth is that the word prosperity is used to refer to a state of success, material gain, happiness and also good health. This highlights that prosperity can be used in various situations to denote different things. On the other hand, the word wealth is mostly used when speaking of material gain only. I would say the old poem "Richard Cory" describes that difference fairly well...

As a man with two redheaded daughters, both of which where ROTC, both of which had AG studies, both of which are successful, both of which have great husbands and have given us beautiful grandchildren, both of which practice traditional Conservative values, and both of which daily carry but would have no problem kicking your arse if you pissed off Momma Bear or spoke poorly of our family. I love this.
And yes, I know I got lucky and my Wife gets all the credit. Just ask her.
