Pardon me sir but under our current system if the President refuses to sign any legislation passed through both houses of Congress what do you suggest they do other than restrict funding. What else can they do when a President refuses to abide by the will of the people.
It's fine to say you wish they would do something else but another thing when you realize that is in fact the only other power they have short of impeachment.
.........
.
If the President vetoes the bill, it is returned to the congressional chamber in which it originated; that chamber may attempt to override the president's veto, though a successful override vote requires the support of two-thirds of those voting.

You know.... with all the supply chain issues and shortages of so many things... does anyone beside me find it funny that there has not been an alcohol, cigarette, or pot shortage....

ALCOHOL SHORTAGE ???!!!!

If the people give both houses to one party then that is their will. If the other party refuses to not abide by that then under your ideal NOTHING gets done.
You seem so caught up in poo pooing (yes I said it) the system that the reality of the situation escapes you. Does is suck, yes it does. However the pursuit of perfection doesn't matter if everything ends in a stalemate and falls apart around you. Sometimes one side must force a win for progress. People can't eat participation trophies.

but if you pass something that fewer than half of the public you were elected to serve want is that really a win? We seem to have people who think politics is a competition where all that matters is if your side wins, they don’t seem to understand that politics is not supposed to be a team sport with right vs left. This isn’t football, and we only truly win when the things that our government passes are what the majority of Americans want. If the only people happy with what you pass are the people of your own party that is not success, and it sure as hell isn’t what our founding fathers had in mind when they set this system up.

In todays political environment any politician that opens his mouth is going to piss off about half the country. One half wants nothing but to shut Trump and his agenda down. The other half wants nothing but to shut Biden and his agenda down. About the only folks that even have any wiggle room at all are the few swing voters in the middle. From my point of view it is a football game - the Democrats are up 24 to 20 with 30 seconds remaining and just fumbled the ball on their own 10 yd line. If the Republicans can’t get across the goal line the US as we know it will completely disappear!!

I would not expect anything different to come from him. He drank the Trump kool-aid. Lots of republicans haven't, I would prefer to see the ones that aren't kissing Trumps feet get in power.

I would venture to say that if you took Donald Trump‘s record of lengthy accomplishments and put them next to the first two years of the Biden administration with no names attached and asked someone to evaluate which direction they would like to go, I would venture to say that most people would say I would like the four years of no wars incredibly low inflation highest job participation among minorities ever and the list goes on and on would more than likely be chosen.
But you know what- I don’t mind if my 401 is down 35% interest rates for homes are at almost 8% and we have a looming war in Europe because boy those tweets sure were horrific.
it’s like saying I’m gonna give back the $1.5 billion Powerball ticket because I don’t like the looks of the person who delivered the check. -

Sure, I agree Biden is doing a horrible job, but get rid of the F&$KEN extremism, and stolen election BS, and get some level headed Republicans in power that don't cater to Trump, and the "far" right. Nothing wrong with being right of centre, without being a conspiracy theorist.

Only ones bringing up stolen election are the dems because they have nothing else to run on.

I strongly disagree (surprise, surprise..... right). Giving away "free" money and stepping all over the energy sector in Joey's very first month in office where the spark that lit the recession fuse. Allowing and then getting us involved in yet another foreign conflict threw gas on that fuse and put our allies in a position where they could have used our help but due to his policies we are no longer able to provide it.
Obama's own former chief economic advisor agrees with this opinion.

Sparcky that is your opinion and valid for you but it is not mine. So many code words for “ give up what you believe and agree with us” .
The “far” on both sides has always been there.
DT was in the process of crushing the left’s ideology and socialist BS and called out the abuses of power.
There are very strong forces on both sides that want none of that.I personally would love 8 years of DT. Washington needs a good house cleaning. DT would show up on day one with no illusions on what needs to be done and how to do it. A great deal of the American people are his friends. He has none in Washington.
Thus the relentless effort to destroy him. -
Just filled up the truck today. Fuel prices rising again. Regular at $389 - $399 regular (depending on o the station). Both stations $5.59 for premium. Grocery shopping yesterday, prices were crazy.
Inflation reduction act causing inflation?

Well if we are going to spend our time looking backward wishing for the return of past presidents my vote would be for bringing back Ronald Reagan
Unfortunately getting Reagan back is almost as unlikely as getting Trump back
Seriously I really wish both sides, Not just the left, would let go of Trump - - If the left would actually listen I would tell them - - "He's gone get over it" and to those on the right that wont stop talking about Trump I would say - - "let it go! we are not getting him back and constantly talking about him only serves to help the left"
Ronald Reagan will never be president again and neither will Donald Trump - - time to move on and find the next Trump, perhaps one who has better control of their mouth this time

This has been posted before, but it's appropriate that EVERYONE keeps this in mind before voting next Tuesday. If this is what you want your kids, grandkids or even friends' kids to have to go through life learning, then your choice on which party to vote for is obvious. Vote Democrats for more of the same. Encouraging minors children to have sex altering surgery, or puberty delaying drugs, males competing against females in all sports, and having girls being forced into sharing their locker rooms with males and having to shower and change clothes in front of them and having unisex bathrooms seems to be their plan for screwing up this country. If however, you believe like most of us that calling yourself a different gender at that age is wrong. Men sports and women sports should be separate but equal. Allowing minors to make lifetime decisions based on some woke agenda being forcefed to them is wrong, then your choice is easy. Vote REPUBLICAN and save this country from a fate that could cause a generation of decline that may never be revered.
