yep - - this is the chance you take when you start selling Slingshots with automatic transmissions. when you open the door wide enough to let everyone in you also take the risk of letting in snowflakes, people so sensitive that they need to be protected from words, people that truly believe that "freedom of speech" really means "freedom from speech". people who get hurt by simply seeing something and then believing that hurt was caused by what they saw and not by their own lack of any ability to cope, people who have been indoctrinated to believe that they are entitled to protection from ever seeing or hearing anything they don't like and it is other peoples jobs to only say or do things that the snowflakes have deemed to be acceptable.
To DavidSilverlight before you reply to this, assuming you ever actually come back and read any of the replies to your post you should know that I did not vote for Mr Trump, and I am not a Republican
I am a Libertarian - I believe in freedom and in liberty, as such I 100% support everyone's right to say or believe any damn thing they like, just so long as in doing so they dont infringe on the rights of others
I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt here, but in doing so I need to point out that you by posting this post of yours are attempting to stifle free speech, you are trying to use your right to say what you like stop the other members here from saying what they like. As others have pointed out - if you dont enjoy the banter of politics and dont have the stomach to hear views different from your own then you should ignore this thread.
Just remember 'Freedom of Speech" was not made one of our most important guaranteed rights to insure that we could all hear only things we like to hear - In fact just the opposite is true "Freedom of Speech" was made a protected right so that everyone - even you - could say things people do not want to hear, popular speech never needed protecting - - - The first Amendment - "Freedom of Speech" is 100% about protecting peoples right to say things YOU don't like or don't want to hear
anyway - I highly suspect you are going to be a one post wonder that we never hear from again, but if I am wrong I would love to invite you to go over to the New and Old Member introduction Section of the forum to introduce yourself and tell us about your Slingshot

Read what I said carefully - I was not critical of all people who drive Slingshots with automatics, I simply said that by making an automatic slingshot available they opened slingshot ownership to everyone - including snowflakes
Heck, if I am not mistaken our fearless leader rabtech installed an automatic in the beast of a Slingshot that he owns and I think we would all agree he is no Snowflake - - -

Snowflakes are more likely to drive an automatic because they never learned how to drive a stick and are unwilling to learn, they won't buy a vehicle no matter how much they might like it unless it comes with an automatic because they feel they are entitled to have things made their way. - - society must adapt to them instead of them adapting to society
You see not all people who drive automatics are by any means Snowflakes not even close!, but there is a very high probability that damn near every Snowflake will demand an automatic
like I said, by offering an automatic option Polaris opened the door to many more potential new Slingshot owners - and this is a good thing, but in doing this they also created an opening for more weak minded, sissified, gutless girly men to try to join the ranks of Slingshot owners - - now on the bright side I suspect many of these owners won't last long, they will get hit with a bug or splashed by a passing truck and will immediately sell their Slingshot for a Miata or they will limit their driving to times where they can cruse safely from the hazards of open air driving and show off for their friends
As a side note I notice Mr DavidSilverlight sill has only made the one post - - - - - Things that make you Hmmmmm?
oh and if I seem a bit judgmental - - - well I guess I am an asshole - I have no problem with people who disagree with me, and I can even get into heated arguments over things with friends, but people who jump into conversations and blurt out their views, as if they are the only views that matter, and then run away to hide in their safe space - - those people truly piss me off. If you want to express your views -great, go for it, but at least be man / woman enough to stick around to hear what the other people have to say - if I am not worth your time, then you sure as shit are not worth mine!
oh and just to be 100% clear, this is not directed at any one I have known as a member here - disagreements aside I truly love you all
New boy David Silver stick - - - the jury is still out on him, right now, I am not impressed, but if he comes back and is willing to join in on the forum and talk about slingshots and be a contributing member - - I would welcome him with open arms

I was looking for info on the 2022 models and instead of finding out what Polaris has planned, my attention was drawn to the confederate flag icon for this "GOP discussion", a topic that is almost as active as the technical forums discussing the actual Slingshot. The site feels more like a Slingshot info site for people who believe that Trump is secretly still president and are probably waiting patiently at this very moment in Dallas for JFK and JFK jr to return with Kid Rock and Ted Nugent blaring to pass the time while they wait.
One suggestion I have is that you at least change he icon in this discussion to something less racist. I get it that this is Merica and you have the freedom to choose whatever symbol of hate you want (swastika, tiki torch, pepe the frog, etc) for your forum discussions, but does this SlingshotInfo.com site have to seem like I just stumbled into OANN or a Trump rally? Not all of us are fans of Sedition, racism, overthrowing our democracy, disinformation, are antivaxxers and/or fans of rigging the elections so that you remain in power at the cost of our democracy. I am sure that this will fall on deaf ears of the MAGA hat wearing admins, but why not focus on Slingshot info so that people can enjoy discussing the Polaris slingshot even if they do not subscribe to what the confederate flag represents.Welcome, some broad-based accusations very easy to use and apply to any/every situation without merit.

Just one little piece of information I think I should share with Mr Silver light - - a huge number of Slingshot owners moved to the Slingshot from the world of two wheeled motorcycles - these are life long "bikers" as some would classify them and will strongly stand by their beliefs many of which tend to lean well to the conservative side.
If you, are not comfortable hanging around strong minded conservatives who are going to speak their minds then I would strongly suggest that you may want to think twice before going Slingshot shopping.
I could be wrong of course, but in my 67 years on this planet I have yet to run across any community of the type snowflake bikers you seem to hope to find

The only thing I can think of is that he came here from the FB groups where no Political posts are allowed at all... Other than that... reading his ramblings made me want to put my Battle Flag back on my Slingshot and fly it proudly....
