Just curious... I use a Mac computer and use the calendar app with it. I have US Holidays checked to automatically show on the calendar... Can anyone tell me what US holiday Eid al-Adha is... I am just a bit ignorant and have never heard of that US holiday....

Maybe you didn't understand that this specific post was not complaining about the Social media companies but rather that the Federal Government directly as well as using proxies such as "fact checkers" hired by the DNC is monitoring social media posts and TELLING private companies what information is to be shared and by whom. This is not disputed, the current administration has openly admitted and verified such. They are also monitoring SMS providers (private texts) and will soon be deciding what information you can share there.
If you don't get that this completely contradicts everything you just wrote and is in fact a direct violation of the First Amendment I don't know what more to say about it other than apparently Squealer is a more convincing pig than I thought possible.

At this point in time I am pretty much ready to give up any hope that the political direction of this country will ever go back to a direction that I would prefer - Seems very clear to me that the youth of this country want to try something different - It also seems clear that they don't think my generation understands - I personally think this is BS, but at this point in time and at my age it just seems pointless for me to try to change their minds - - - how can I when they truly believe "things are different now"
oh well - - - maybe if I am lucky I can get some "free" benefits and get out of here before it all comes crashing down

Sorry, every time I look in the mirror I am reminded of what happens when people become complacent and believe those who promise to "make things better" if you only turn over your freedom to them. I raised my children to know this is wrong, am making sure my grandchildren are being raised the same, and I can tell you there a a whole lot of like minded others who are quietly becoming incensed by current events and are being forced to get involved. Those currently at the wheel have no idea what they are creating and it's going to be a very uncomfortable lesson when they realize it is the opposite of what they intended.

Sorry, every time I look in the mirror I am reminded of what happens when people become complacent and believe those who promise to "make things better" if you only turn over your freedom to them. I raised my children to know this is wrong, am making sure my grandchildren are being raised the same, and I can tell you there a a whole lot of like minded others who are quietly becoming incensed by current events and are being forced to get involved. Those currently at the wheel have no idea what they are creating and it's going to be a very uncomfortable lesson when they realize it is the opposite of what they intended.

Do you feel either of the current political parties that are in power actually agree with a large majority of what you believe?
I used to think that the Republican party aligned very well with my beliefs, but these days I can't honestly say they do - - at best perhaps 50% and the Democrat party - clearly much less
these 2 parties literally own the system - there really isn't any other viable option. My party of choice, the Libertarian Party is probably better than 90% in alignment with what I believe and I suspect that many on here would feel the same, but despite this Libertarians don't really have a chance. The D's and the R's own the ball and the court and they have set things up in such a way that other Parties don't even get in the game
So I really have 2 choices, I can vote my heart and vote for Libertarian's as I have in the past and watch nothing change or I can vote for the Republican and know that 50% of the time they are going to do exactly what I dont want
so what is a "good man" supposed to do? - - is voting for the lesser of to bad things really acceptable? is it really any better to vote my heart knowing their is zero chance that person will ever win
the game is rigged and just about the only thing I can think of that would possibly change it would be congressional term limits, but that would require congress to pass it and vote themselves out of a job - - you and I both know that isnt going to happen any time soon
As much as I hate to say it I personally think at this point it will take the complete dismantling of the system before we can fix the mess we have allowed it to become - As sad as it makes me to say it I don't think it is possible to ever make a real difference at the ballot box anymore - the D's & the R's have made sure to rig the game to insure that doesn't happen

Had some long talks with Libertarian friends on this subject. My view is that Libertarian candidates should run as Republicans just like Democratic Socialists / Progressives / Moderates / etc all run as Democrats. The two party power system isn't going away and third party candidates generally only hurt the more conservative candidate in the race. Sub groups in the Democratic Party have worked this very well and now have a significant say on what the mainstream democratic party platforms are going to be. An option for the Libertarian candidates is to take that as a model and approach the Republican Party the same way. Just my 2 cents
