Just asking because I may be transferring to Fort Washakie, Wyoming with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Was wondering what it is like to live out there as far as cost of living and things to do. And if the winters are brutal like in New England?
Anyone on here from Wyoming?

I was transferred there for 6 to 10 years back in the 80's. Never saw the weather outside, so I can't comment about that. (sorry, it's Sunday and I'm bored doing taxes)
On a side note, I hope you don't get leveled with this next snow storm ready to hit you shortly

Ugh....I know.

I was stationed in Cheyenne at F.E. Warren AFB in the 80's. People are nice. A lot of public land to play and hunt on. Usually pretty windy and weather can change quickly. Low humidity so snow is often powder. 2" of snow can build snow drifts a few feet high and wind chills can get in -40 to -60 range. It is beautiful country though and a good time if you like the outdoors.

I do love hunting.

I have an old shipmate of mine out that way, and they've had a lot of snow this winter. I get the feeling that's pretty standard. My uncle travels out there to hunt, says it's some of the prettiest country there is.

We had to carry winter survival kits when we went out to perform maintenance on the missiles, from September through May. My first year there we had a blizzard June 6th

I love Montana and Wyoming. Incredibly beautiful. My bucket list now includes a Slingshot ride on the Bear tooth highway
