Admin, can we re-title the thread to "deez nuts"?
Just for entertainment value...
The real question, @DKF Texas, is are they bigger?
No....but they are tight

I knew I could get some help regarding my nuts!
Seriously I still have my UP Lock I was hoping someone might have figured out a way to use it...
Good way to start the day laughing!!! -

I thought EVERYTHING was bigger in Texas?

I am not a fan of the double nut install. Not just for cosmetic but mechanical, you torque(250 ft#) a nut with less than half the full threads of the original nut on a soft steel axle. This greatly increases the possibility of damage threads of the axle and/or the nut. I have seen damaged threads of an axle with the original nut, so this is very possible. I also don't care for the double nut for the fact you no longer have a flange nut like the original which spreads out the pressure against the pulley evenly and squarely against the pulley. Even though the half nuts are larger they still don't have the surface area of the flange.
I am sure there is warranty ramifications for not using the double nut install, that is why Polaris is requesting documentation.
I continue to run the single nut and like @rabtech have never had an issue with it.

They put the double on after my second bearing replacement....made me sad...

FITS bigger nuts are not necessarily a better thing...kind of like having blue nuts, while it could be purely for aesthetic reasons it could also be an indication of bad things...we can take this one step farther...the simple fact that I am complaining about "my nuts" well...need I say more

At least they're not blue

double nuts when done correctly work great. I wish Polaris had just copied 4x4 solid axle front hub assemblies. One nut to set proper torque, second to lock in place with a lock washer to insure they didn't back out. Also could have just copied tried and true tapered bearings as well.

I'm with Ruptured Duck on this one. If the jobs done right it should be fine but his recommendations are much better.

Has anyone tried nord-lock washers? They are the only system that doesn't rely on friction. They use clamping force to stay on. Check out nord-lock. com

have not been in for recall just yet. Did check my double nuts.. appears they have back off 1/4" from the marks I made when I picked it up new. Took 4000 miles. My first sling with the single nut never backed off after 7000 miles.

I marked my single nut when I picked it up. Has not moved. When they do the recall I will have the same nut re-installed with nord-lock under it. Will never vibrate loose even with anti-seize. They recommend lubricant so torque is consistent. Just reduce torque by 10-15%.
