The San Andreas runs right along just north of here, in fact there is a great oasis in Thousand Palms that is right in the fault that has beautiful palm trees all around it

They say that May 2019 was the coolest May on record here in Palm Springs - - It looks like its safe to say that trend has ended

Edward Neal I remember temps like that when I was in Hanford Ca. Stationed at Lemoore.

Edward Neal can’t really put a like on that last post but with it at 102 with heat index at 112 guess you could say I feel your pain. I am ready to move to the Smokey mountains.

fortunately we don't normally have much if any humidity here in the desert which seems to make it much more bearable. Also living here for over 30 years I've actually gotten to the point where I kind of like it - heck we keep the AC set at 79 and that seems cold to us

Same here but after going to Maggie Valley it was great weather. I believe one morning was 55 but sitting out on porch it was like 72 at night. Again, great riding weather and I can not tease the guys up north with there weather with snow and such. But it is what it is.
JUST SAYIN

My Wife's from McAllen, Tx in the Rio Grande Valley in extreme southern Texas. She was reading a report to me the other day about McAllen having recorded the highest temp in the Nation of around 125F. Don't remember if that was actual temp or humidity adjusted temp.

Dang, how do you get any work done outside? Or do you wait until your 3 day weekend and do it early in the morning?
-
Add humidity to that and you are in Oklahoma hell

there is no humidity so it really isnt as bad as you might think - Also I have lived here for 30+ years so I am adjusted to it . Having said that we do tend to do things like yard work either early in the day or we wait until the sun drops behind the mountain in the afternoon - Mt San Jacinto is around 10,800 feet tall and with Palm Springs being at the base on the east side we get several hours before sunset when we are in the mountains shadow - - its a great time to get work done because its still very light outside but we are not pounded by direct sun light

Maggie to Bristol, great weather all day
