That looks like A LOT OF FUN. Shoooot. I will be just coming back from Clearwater FL a week prior.
-
Received email today from Polaris about this:
-
We need to get @Noel Hughes in on that!!! He can flat burn the track up!! I can mix drinks and light cigars
-
The wife and I bought tickets and will be going to Saturdays races. Should be pretty cool to see.
-
Was just a crash. Sling flipped over with 2 people. Nobody hurt.
-
-
That ain't gonna buff out
-
For a moment I thought they were going to tongue kiss.
Was that all there was to the whole ROC event??
-
I believe it's going to take all three people that were in the stands to push it back on its wheels.

Me thinks @Noel Hughes wouldn't have crashed and passed him like he was standing still!!!
-
Ok the roll hoops work and the swingarm held.

From the video it looks like the front wheel ran up on the Orange SLR but in fact they never touched each other. When Silver SLR hit the barrier the front wheels cocked to the right and caused the Sliver SLR to flip. See the common lowered front spoiler from the impact? The four/five point race seatbelts and race seats with head supports saved the occupants from injury. The machine held up well but IMO there would have been injuries if the same thing happened with OEM seats and seat belts.

I agree, I'm not a fan of the oem belts and since I've replaced them with the harness bars and prp harness it feels safer. Is it? I don't know, but I'm not constantly being moved from one side of the seat to the other and front to back. I'd like to think that properly fitted, on the chance that my sling took a roll like that, that they would hold me in, and below the roll hoops.

I'm just sitting by the phone hoping ROC calls me to day to come drive...

Gonna climb up on the soapbox here ........Notice ( as @mniron mentioned ) the head restraints on the seats combined with all occupants also wearing HANS devices .....
Without head restraint the risk of breaking your neck or separating your skull from your spine is greater than the perceived added protection with a harness alone ...
The stock three point belt is designed to slow forward movement and rotate the body for less stress on the neck and spine.
While nothing is perfect for all conditions harnesses are for the track and a liability on the street if other supporting restraints are not used, I challenge anyone to find reliable, professional information to the contrary .....
Gonna let y'all hash it out if you wish but urge you to seek facts rather than opinions or feelings ......
