I showed how to remove the side pieces in another post. But I didn't show what made up the LED strips. Here is how the 5050 Cool White strips have to be cut and placed. Smaller LED strips should be able to contour this radius.
LED work today.

Here is the finished sidewing. I have the surface where the LED strips are prepared with 3M Primer 94.
If your wondering about the two wires and the LED ends being exposed you don't have to. I never expose the LED lights. I cut at an angle with a straight razor so that I only expose the solder pads. Then I just tin the pads with a good sized drop of solder. Make sure you heat the pads first a bit that your applying the solder to to get the solder to transfer.
Another thing is always tin the ends of wire with solder before trying to make connections. What you end up with if you do all the above is a solder pad prepped and waiting for something to be stuck to it. And you have a wire that has essentially been thoroughly saturated with solder. Now all you have to do is lay the wire on top of the solder pad and touch the tip to the back side of the wire. All that heat will basically melt the solder for a second and all the parts will fuse.
