• Spent 38 years in the Air Force. 18 as a kid and the rest Enlisted. Started in Photo Reconnaissance then swapped to Air Traffic Control Radar repair. Retired for the AF and spent 2 years teaching electronics for the AF as a civilian. A buddy got me an interview at Varian Medical Systems, where I work for them installing, modifying, upgrading and repairing Radiation Treatment machines in cancer centers throughout the America's. I tell people that I measure shadows for a living, which is actually a good description of some of my alignments.

  • US Navy Interior Communications Electrician 1966-1970 Then up until 2005, Industrial Electronics Instrumentation. I also repaired/rebuilt industrial control valves for 18 years. Retired since Nov. 2005 and enjoying every minute. Hobbies have always been motorcycles and old cars.

  • Misfit. My title is Project specialist. I work for a not-for-profit insurance company that only serves Wisconsin public schools and municipalities. I've served as an expert witness in insurance arbitration hearings and assisted many Boards of Education in designing their insurance products for their staff as well as unions when they were allowed to bargain benefits. Our primary business is health insurance but I specialize in our ancillary products like long-term care, life insurance, disability insurance and vision. I'm in charge of our enrollment and billing software but I spend most of my time on the phone with folks talking about long-term care insurance or their life insurance. When I'm not on the phone I'm out at school districts or municipalities talking to folks about their insurance. I have my insurance license but I'm a little bit geeky or at least geeky enough to be in charge of our billing and enrollment software.

Spent 10 years owning my own photography studio - mainly weddings, high school senior photos, babies, and families. Had lots of fun but an ugly divorce took away any free time I had. The changes in professional photography has been absolutely insane over the last 10 years. Anybody with a iPhone or DSLR can say they're "professional" photographer in charge pennies-on-the-dollar for their "services" meanwhile they carry no insurance don't have any back-up plan for those unforeseen mishaps dont pay taxes and .... we'll don't get me started

  • US Army Active Duty for 11.5 years as a Voice Intercept Operator/Supervisor (German), getting out as a SFC. Then spent 24 more years working for the Army as an Intelligence Analyst for the US Army Intelligence and Security Command and then the US Army 1st Information Operations Command. Supported modeling and simulation efforts, foreign media analysis/monitoring of reporting about US military actions and beliefs about the US War on Terror and enjoyed the opportunity to work with US foreign leadership analysts.
MY wife was a Russian linguist in the US Air Force before going to work for the Army, fielding intelligence collection and processing equipment. She eventually moved to the Department of Defense handing Intelligence budgeting and retired after 34 years with the military.
We'd often dreamed of running a used book store, and seriously considered buying one that was up for sale near our community, but didn't like the numbers. Someone else bought it and ended up going out of business less than 1 year later.

  • I use Arch & Struct plans to produce concrete tiltwall/tiltup panel books. I detail plate locations and show them where to put inserts to attach the crane to so they can lift each panel into place. After about 20 years of working for others last month I decided to go out on my own. Have 0 work today, but if you build it they will come, if you don't take the risk you'll always make someone else rich and not yourself.

    way to go!!!!!!
