Never heard of this before. Pretty neat concept.
I did see an electric hybrid style supercharger that was on TV the other day. It was an "on demand" style supercharger.
It took 275 pounds of batteries to works occasionally.

The electric unit discussed here - Wild Weasel Tests An Electric Supercharger looks interesting, but I haven't really seen anything new from the maker in several years. No response to my emails.
