Ok I am just blowing off steam here. Totally frustrated with mother nature. I have a 2 acer pond on my property which is attached to a rather large lake. Been working on this pond for about 7 years and it came in great. Plenty of fish and wild life. Sometimes a little too much wildlife. In the past 4 years we have had to take out contracts on no less than 7 beavers. Every year around this time we have a pair of Otters come thru. Otters can eat twice their body weight in fish, crawfish and frogs every day. They can also make one hell of a mess. In the past I have been able to scare them off pretty quick. But not this year, the 2 that showed up this year were definitely not leaving in any hurry. Since none of my normal tactics worked I asked local park ranger for advice. He tells me they hate loud noises. So I get me one of those compressed air boat horns and a lawn chair. Every time they stuck their heads up I blasted them. They laughed. I swear they were floating on their backs flipping me the bird. Well last night I trapped both of them. Loaded the traps in my truck and drove them 30 miles south and put them in a newly built pond.
Got of this morning walked the dog back to the pond and what do I see 2 more otters swimming and laughing at me. I swear somewhere in the woods written in otter is a sign that says
affordable Otter Housing and Free Buffet.
Any one have any ideas other than my 30/30 to put this circus to an end. I am running out of fish.
