So I'm real slow at work so I figure I'd fab up a simple exhaust system and I have a couple questions, what mufflers are you guys and gals running... flowmaster, magnaflow, spin tech, imco, thrush? What panels have to be removed to get the stock exhaust out?
Almost exhaust time...

@BONES and I are running the Bassani Xhaust. Part# 6S17 Bassani Exhaust - Bassani.com
-
Looks kinda like a tractor muffler....sound good? Since I work at a exhaust shop I can't convince myself to spend the money on outrageous exhaust prices, example, I can mimic a code man exhaust for about 75.00 but give it my own Lil tweeks.
-
I will also be removing the cat when ever I decide what muffler to run...... I'm leaning towards spin tech mufflers for they're size but I've never heard one on a eco tech.
-
I think it sounds great. They have youtube video at that link but I think it sounds better than the video

I ran a MagnaFlow 14 inch high flow muffler connected to the header flange at a 45 deg angle exiting out the rear of the sling. It performed great for 18 months unit a super charger was added. Initially it performed but the higher flow and flame from the SC cooked the inside and it got real loud. I have replace it with the Alpha side exit exhaust which performs well and my wife's Sling is about to have an Alpha variable installed.
-
How was the magnaflow? Was it poppy? Raspy? You basically just told me my idea on mounting. The SC will come after the quad kit so I'm a year out before an thing happens.
-
Real good sound under power deep sound, not raspy or poppy. With it running out the back, the sound is behind you. I initially had it dumping where the stock set-up does but the higher velocity of coming off the header was really loud and actually shook the Sling from the reverb off the ground. Cut the flange off from the cat and weld it up. 2.5 inch pipe. Under the sling was 2.5 inch pipe ovalized in a vise.
-
I liked the sound of the stock muffler, once I did the cat delete. It also increased the performance and the gas mileage. The wife liked the Welter Dual so that is what I have now.

Yip that what I was planning but I have a new flange, never thought about running in behind.... did it ever drag? How's the heat?

I too like the tone of the stocker, but making a cat delete pipe looks like a PITA to fab up. Seems easier just to change the whole thing, and I just can't talk myself into buying something I can make for next to nothing.
What panels need to be removed to get the stocker out?
-
@Slingrazor what size tubing did ya use?
-
Like the Bassani, Very happy... has a nice throat @ idle and get up and go rumble. Call me nuts, but Sling feels like it has more get up as well....Give me a few, Ill post a video
-
2.5 inch so it flow well. Need to remove the front right panel (4 fasteners to the left of the shock, I fastener on top in front of the mirror, 1 fastener just under the aft end of the mud flap, and the front right fastener on the floor board inside. The panel can then be pulled back enough to get the old one out.

got a guy I can turn you onto for $415 shipped!! that's a steal!!
-
Negitive.... can't talk myself into paying for something I can fab up. That's 400 to save for a SC or suspension
-
**sorry not best video, had my 11 year old pushing gas pedal while I filmed for reference

You can take the stock muffler off without taking the panel off. I have not done but my friend has.

@FunCycle you have my attention.
He also took the loud muffler off and put the stock cat and the muffler back on.
