Interesting frame change on 2017

Looks like where some of the weight was trimmed, going from cast to welded. Strength trim ??

I'll bet it weighs less and is structurally stronger in normal straight up and down operation. Curious as to how it will perform tortionally.

Seems they are also using a new accelerator pedal unit ...... with all three pedals having threaded inserts for their $300 covers .....

Hopefully the same engineer wasn't in charge of the new swingarm mounting as was over the new side panel brackets ......

Is that why I have the spider crack on top of my side panel on my '16.5?

Those side pieces are bad didn't a bunch of people have problems with them cracking plastic. I try not to push up on them to get out.

I also can't believe they would let it leave with the holes showing in the roll hoops. They would have had to push in 4 black caps to make that look 100% better and add no weight. And I bet I could get a box of 1000 caps for 20.00.

Somebody just dropped the ball on that. I bet you see caps on them soon.

YES..... as do I.....
We noticed that my hoops, even without the mounts for the new top is a different casting than the original 15-16 models.
Would assume tbe new lower frame section comes from the AL plant?

Interesting changes.. As for side panels, I don't even have those brackets in mine as I went with the shorter Twisted side wings.. So the brackets come out.

I decided to trade my 2015 in on a 2017.Took it over to Cycle Springs where Noel as always took great care of me and cut me a good deal.
I bought the basic but the are transferring my Welter Exhaust,Twist Top,Alpha cold air intake,PRP seats,steering wheel,shifter knob, as well as other bits&spices.Adding radio&aback up camera.Also changed the wheels for bigger & better.
Picking it up Thurs then heading to California for Slingshots Across America road rally.
Great service from Cycle Springs.
