Just got back from a 1500 mile trip...flew out to Traverse City, MI to pick up the newly converted slingshot to drive it all the way back to Colorado. Covered 6 states in 2 days, some crazy rain, some intense heat, some parts of Gary, IN that I never want to see again...and there is no way humidity is good for anyone. I met up with Troy at TrakHamr and kev happened to be there to check out the conversion. On the way home stopped by Kyle D and checked out the ZZP facility. Hands down one of the nicest shops I have ever seen. It was awesome to walk in to a shop and see everyone smiling and working hard. You don't get that in most places let alone a shop that works on vehicles as much as they do. Continued on home after a stop in Des Moines, IA. What I have learned about the Slingshot community was all reinforced this trip. We have the greatest collection of community out of any group...nationwide...and possibly world wide. Everyone loves being a part of the community. I had offers for places to stay, people that wanted to come out and just ride part of the way with me...offers for lunch and just wanting to meet up. Some I was able to accommodate...others I will have to catch next time. Just wanted to throw out a quick thank you to everyone I was able to see and to those I couldn't. Don't take this community for granted. There are literally people here that will become family to you. Appreciate them.

and see Kev, you missed out, you should have had a camera ready!
What are your thoughts on the conversion?

Rode to Burr Oak IA. The family of Laura Ingalls Wilder (Little House on the Prairie) ran the rooming house which is now a museum. Took the curviest roads I could find on the map.
At one spot, near Bluffton, a sign said ROAD CLOSED AHEAD. Sure enough, about 15 miles ahead, the road WAS closed. I just had to see for myself!!! Oh well, the curves were just as fun going south as going north.
At a Cenex gas station, north of Decorah, I stopped for fuel. The lady clerk came out and took a picture of the SS and my wife. Said she, "had never seen one of them things before". We enjoy lighting up the otherwise dreary lives of fellow Iowa hermits.

And I was there about 4 that afternoon! But we went north to Damascus and over to Independence from there, to meet my wife's aunt for dinner. Went back the next day to get a shirt and stickers.... that's when I got to ride it! Still wish I'd known you were leaving, we were soooo close that day!
