Polaris is now producing two vehicles at its brand new Huntsville-annexed Limestone County plant.
Polaris chairman and CEO Scott Wine said the company began producing RANGERS in the beginning of June, while Polaris workers started assembling Slingshots in early July. The start of Huntsville production comes as the company works on belt-tightening measures based on what Wine calls 'a weaker retail sales environment.
Polaris shares are trading up close to nine percent after the company released its second quarter 2016 results, which showed increases in overall sales despite various challenges facing the company. It expects as much as a two percent overall sales decrease for the entire year.Limestone County leaders are estimating an additional $75-80 million in economic growth because of the Polaris plant.
