Is there a way to increase the assist given by power steering box? i drove a 2021 recently, and it was much easier to steer than my 2016.5.
any info is appreciated.

No way that I am aware of to change the power steering assist on the Slingshot. There are a couple things to check though - make sure you have an alignment on the 2016.5, that will make a difference in steering feel. Do you have stock tires on your slingshot, or have you changed those out? Different tires, especially larger/stickier tires will make the steering harder. Also, what tire pressures are you running? Lower tire pressure will increase steering effort also.
Dave@DDMWorks I had the lazer alignment done in 2016. Sling still goes down road straight with no hands on wheel. Should I consider it good or get a lazer update?
I know there is a difference in the steering between the 2015 and the 2016 models. I have both. I like the 2015 steering better.
I have stock tires. run recommended pressures. the alignment seems ok. it drives and tracks well, although i have not checked the alignment.

Laser alignment if you have not done it. If it is out any at all you will feel a difference when it is done.

The alignment done in 2016 should still be good, unless something has worn or you hit a curb or something that could cause the alignment to change. Hopefully you make it down to Maggie Valley this year, if so, I would have Scott from Sport Rider do an alignment there, he is typically setup and doing them.

I believe that Sport Rider will be at Maggie Valley again this year doing Lazer alignments.

A lazer alignment is a MUST. None to the Slingshot coming from the factory are very well aligned.

But I bet they are not 2 inch toe in like my Carmel that destroyed tires in 100 mile ride..
And they did not torque the tie rod to rack & pinion and adjusting it fell out of rack & pinion threads..

dallen1059 Polaris in 2020 and newer models made some big changes in the power steering with the addition of two different modes for driving ;
Comfort mode for regular driving,
Slingshot mode for sport driving.
You have an electronic selector switch on the steering wheel !!!
I really like this option which is just one of the many upgrades Polaris is improving with the newer Slingshots !!
here's links to the Steering assembly parts diagrams. I chose 2017 as an average for the Gen 1 and 2022 for the Gen 2. The most significant difference I could see is the Gen can be purchased in individual parts while the Gen 2 is a single assembly. Hard to tell if the 2 are interchangeable. It looks like the 2 assemblies have different mountings.

One way to increase power steering is a gym membership.
