Yes, we've a k ways gone the minimalist route on our trips. Don't mind spending an hour or 2 in the laundromat once during a 2 week trip or doing laundry at the hotel.
SlingShot Touring / How do YOU do it?

Yep. 30 wonderful years with my high school sweetie. I'm blessed that she has the same attitude about packing as I do. She only takes a backpack as well.
My girl likes to get out of town too - travel’s well - but not as light 😎

One lesser "known" thoughts on packing for longer trips is this. For the amount of time it takes to find a laundry place to wash your worn clothes, you can use that time to "upgrade" some of your basic needs. It's not that much more to replace a few t-shirts, socks and underwear than it is to buy detergent and pay the machines to wash and dry your old dirty stuff. Plus you save that space to transport extra clean clothes if you had no plans to travel light and wash the dirty stuff half way into the trip

My wife went around the block once so she travels light.

This is the only way I tour but I take the dog with lol

I had a couple of Pakit Raks from my two wheel days and even used on on my Can-Am Spyder. They worked great and just had to do a little modification for the Slingshot...
billythekidd did you mount the Pakit racks to your other racks or are they a stand-alone system?
Hmm. I prefer to keep it a little simpler. When we went to Homecoming a couple yrs ago (800 miles 1 way), I just hung my backpack on the roll bar. Took the strap off, crossed them around the roll bar and hooked right back in. No issues. Didn't even get wet when we ran through the rain. Still left room to fill gas.
Didn't you win a set of luggage racks in the raffle?
If using roll hoop speakers keep in mind depending on which (if any) luggage rack you may choose it may have to be modified. I installed the SSV rear speaker pods and using the SlingLow racks it left about 1/8 inch clearance. Sometimes you win! I have small but expandable roll bags for small trips or longer solo trips. A pair of larger Sedici bags for longer trips and a cockpit cover that fits nicely behind the seat (shown in a PRP storage bag) leaving behind the seat storage open for other things.
That's the way we roll. 2 medium MeanSling bags on the racks and the storage cubbies.

Must. Not. Comment.
Only once? Not what I heard.
Hey, I tried.
On a serious note, my wife has learned to pack light like me through the years of motorcycle travel, camping, Jeeping, quadding and now Slinging. But she's not a fan of long distance road travel in general so on our 2 trips to Slingfest in Sundre, Alberta, I made the 2 day ride then picked her up at the Calgary airport about an hour and a half from Sundre. Win win. I get 2 peaceful and efficient days on the road at the speed of my choosing and she gets to skip that part and go to the event. I may be doing this to Maggie Valley in the near future and probably some of the other events like Vegas, Colorado or Texas. She still has to pack to ride so she carries on her MeanSling bag and that's all the room she gets other than what we can fit in at home. Of course basic tools, jump box, cleaning supplies and rain gear take up most of one side.

I mounted the bases to the other racks with a U bold for now so I can remove them when I am not traveling.

for a 2 or 3 day trip, I just use my meansling bags under the back
for longer trip or when my son and I play golf, I use my trailer

This is the only way I tour but I take the dog with lol
I don’t know if I could sit in a slingshot enclosed in a trailer while someone pulled me down the road for very long….. even if I did have a dog in the side seat with me😜

This would actually be a pretty cool paint job speaking of the reflection in the hood!

Probably not something to brag about but each one of my touring bags weighed in and at 25 pounds apiece. Counting the cooler upfront and other miscellaneous items I’m figuring at least an extra 75 pounds total in the sling this trip. I got 25.7 miles per gallon this time and usually do 27.7 so a loss of 2 miles is not all that bad. Once again my luggage set up I wouldn’t trade for anything. We took all we needed for four days and still had clothes we didn’t wear. 🙂

Gas mileage "WHO CARES" as long as you got the wind in your face going down the road. And remember every mile you go done the road you subtract an hour of AGE --- KEEP on riding.

Way over packed just for 4 days.

agree! It’s a wife thing…

2700 miles from Brush Prairie, WA to Sundre, Alberta for SlingFest two years in a row (until Covid). Just a MeanSling bag on top of some gifts and my full travel cover on the other side. The wife flies out using her MeanSling bag for a carry on. Doesn't matter how many days. If we have to do laundry we do laundry.
