Yes, I only stripped one fitting. I grease the screw and that seems to let them flow easily.

I do know Bilstein is a really reputable company when it comes to suspension components and shocks in the car industry. Considering the original price of these puppies was 2k I am expecting them to be really good and solid shocks.

I love that it has 10 damping adjustments plus ride adjustment. Making it a 2 way adjustable coilovers

Well, as far as I know, these coilovers were only offered on ONE model and that was the 2018 SLR limited edition as part of that trim. So it was a very limited run. Someone correct me if I am wrong but thats basically the only model that offered the Bilstein shocks.

Since they're Bilsteins, a known manufacturer of rebuildable shocks, I'd assume they're rebuidable. I bought the single adjustable Bilsteins during a Group Buy many years ago and plan on having them upgraded to double adjustable shocks when I have them rebuilt. It's my understanding that the upgrade cost isn't that much. I read where a Slingshot owner had had his upgraded when he had his Bilsteins rebuilt, so I hope I can still get this done.

So I bought these and just got done installing them. Anybody got any suggestions for setting them? They come pre set to “5”. I’m a heavier guy (265) and I don’t quite understand the correlation between rider weight and dial settings and preload.

Set them in the middle and then ride for awhile and see if you want the softer ride or harder for the more performance ride. If you are one that just cruises around you will probably go to the softer side.

Same here. Still figuring out the damping settings. Is lower supposed to be more comfort and higher setting more firm. Wondering what the best comfort setting for longer drives is and for spirited driving etc.
