A good friend of many of us here in the forum , Tonya Martin Simpson, wrecked today on her way home from the ride , Storm the Mountain. Shes now in good enough spirits to reach out and tell everybody on FB she 's oaky and posted these pictures . a few broken ribs and a lot of bumps and bruises ,
Barrell rolled and ended back up on her wheels in the ditch ! Thank God , it could have been much worse.

Lone Pine hospital for great through diagnose of 2/3 ribs both are broken. Left wrist has splint badly bruised.
Gods hands took great care of me .

Not an area where I'd want to imagine a roll over. Looks very fortunate to have gotten by with a few broken ribs. Prayers for a speedy recovery.
The video posted on bookface is crazy. Carying a load of weight off the rear had to play a factor. Didn’t look like they were using excessive speed in them corners. Glad she is alive and will heal.
Edit, anyone know approximate speed she was traveling? The blue sling seemed rather planted in the curve.

Is it just me or does it look like her right front wheel may have ventured off of the pavement & onto the soft stuff? Perhaps coming back up onto the pavement (in addition to added load in back) may have initiated the rollover.
Thanks for sharing the video 2W2X1 - this may help prevent someone else from having the same thing occur to them.

Wow... yeah rolling to the outside of that mountain could've been a totally different landing. Sooooo... no twisties with cargo racks?
Wow!! Saw the video!! I agree with Tripod,,,,it sure looks like the tire went slightly off pavement just as she was getting into the gas, just at the same time she was turning even harder into the turn. Perhaps the extra wind drag on the large flags played a roll in the event. Very unfortunate and certainly not due to crazy speeds or bad driving!!!
We're so glad Tonya wasn't injured any more than she was!! She's a tough girl and will shake off a few broken ribs pretty quick!!! Our thoughts and prayers are with her for a full and speedy recovery as well!!!!!
And no worries about the Sling......a little polishing compound and she'll be right as rain!!!

OH MY GOD, She came down hard right on that tee bar! I cannot believe it absorbed as much impact as it did and distributed it over all four corners without a structural failure. .Mine is off right now as I wanted the best looking photos for my Plus 1 shots but I can tell you its going back on now!
I’m also wondering about the large flags - could they have also caused additional downforce in the rear, thereby “lightening” the front end?
