Well boys, my Wife doesn't complain about the heat on the passenger side even when it's in the 90's, (I know a woman that doesn't complain is rare but I got one), so anyway I got thinking maybe if I blew some air over the muffler it would help keep the glove compartment a little cooler. I bought a $20 radiator fan and installed it under the hood on the passenger side upper frame. Also wired it into my power box so it's fused and it only comes on when the key is on. Has anyone else done this? We'll see if it works anyway.

You don't say what year your SS is. In 2016.5, Polaris added a head shield between the muffler and firewall. You can also add the DEI kit that adds that shield, plus a whole more more shielding down the transmission tunnel and floor boards that really cut the heat A LOT.

You might want to install a turn-off delay relay on that fan... Once you park the Slingshot, that fan's sitting right above one of the hottest parts in the hottest area of the engine compartment... Wouldn't want the plastic on your fan to melt... I've used a FLIR cam on my hood, and the hood registered up to 206F in that area a few minutes after being parked. It can only be hotter underneath.

I took packing foam and filled in all the holes on the firewall on the passenger side. I also seem to recall that a vendor offers a aftermarket plate to cover the larger hole in the firewall above the muffler?
