There is no room to drop it except straight down. It is about 21 years old and split this past Sunday. For the rest of the limb's ( up to about 3 inch) start triming the limb's from the bottom to the top with the Ruger 22. It takes 2 rounds for a 3/4 inch limb and maybe 30 rounds for the 3 inch limb's. It has taken me about 250 rounds and only one 4 inch limb left. I broke out the AK for that one and will wait for it to cool off this afternoon. I though you guys would get a kick out of this. Yes, it has a scope and will do 3/4 inch or less group at 100 yards. I also have an old 550 that is zeroed for golf balls at 100 yards (about 99 out of 100 shots)

I hate Bradford Pear trees. I don't understand why there are still places to buy them since most all yard / landscape people know all about the problems they create. If you want a flowering tree just go with crepe myrtles which do much better and don't have all the problems that bradford pears present. Just don't commit crepe murder and whack them off like a lot of people do around here. The grumpy gardener is my hero on this topic....

I have 4 Crepe Myrtles and no they have never been trimed. The wife said to trim and I saidno, they willnot been trimed.
-
I have 18 select pear trees - never had an issue except in December when they all drop their leaves the same day
-
When then get about 20 years old that start splitting apart

Probably cheaper to call the tree guys but NOT as much FUN.

No ! These are $12 boxes (555 rounds)

Bradford pear has just been added to SC's list of banned plants

I am going ahead and cutting down the other one before it falls on the play room. I will start trimming the bottom tomorrow and then I will bring it down in one piece.
-
Damn it is hot, I have 3 more lower limbs to cut off. Then will work on brining the whole rest of the tree down. Only one small space for it t come down in. I will bring the skid steer over for a little help.

Both Bradford Pear trees are down now. Cut the second one down yesterday and it DID fall right where it was supposed to. Now it is just the clean up that is left. I sure hated to cut down my back yard shade
-
Today is not the day for clean up, heat index around 105 degrees

Only about 6 more trailer loads of limbs to haul off

wouldn't a match and some gas be faster and easier on the back?

I would still have to pick up and move.

I had a bunch of sapling trees to remove and gave up and ordered the chipper/shredder I have always wanted. Now I just have a lot of mulch.

Broke my hip using a ladder cutting up a blown down tree. I just had a tree company remove 14 big pines. No more trees and ladders foe me! 😢
