As far as topic, we tend to lean right. It's the nature of the beast. Were you in a CNN forum, it would be to the left of Chairman Mao, again nature of the beast. The same as if you were in a transgender group etc.

A very good friend of mine is gay and conservative, now she is in a lonely place. Count yourself lucky.

As for myself I try to be less of a political ahole outside of the politics thread.

I have changed the name from Politics Suck to Conservative Politics and Daily Events. With the name change there should be no question what your gonna get in that thread. If you are Dem or liberal don’t be surprised if you get a lot of push back in that thread and simply ignore it if you don’t want to deal with it. If everyone would keep political comments there this issue would resolve itself immediately - HOPEFULLY!!

I know that I have been an offender in that I have made political comments in threads other than the politics suck thread, But having said that I would be 100% okay if rabtech were to decide to start banning us if we continue doing this - I highly suspect that if people, including myself, who overtly crossed that line were to get a warning that one more would lead to being banned that things would very quickly be brought under control

I really think that the only time politics should ever be in threads other than that one should be if its a political subject that directly impacts the Slingshot community - like some proposed tax on motorcycles or other similar thing

There is no reason to leave MT. I am very political but I don’t spend much time in Bills room. Luv ya Bill. I read a lot and hate wasting my time reading some guy rambling on his view. I have only blocked one guy on this forum and one in another forum that waste my time. I come in here to see my friends and talk slingshots. I actually look at friends differently when I read their political views and in my mind they are skewed visions. I think it’s best to leave politics out of a friendship unless your both on the same page. Problem is there are too many pages in the same party now.

The only time I ever look at what yall are doing is when I get a bunch of "you might want to look at this" kind of messages. And even then I have to step back and see if it's just a one time thing or if it's someone just trying to get shit stirred up.

Yall are doing OK in my book. You just have to remember that you can't win an online debate. AND POSTING YOUR VIEWS AND BELIEFS OVER AND OVER WILL NEVER MAKE YOU RIGHT. So I try to weight that in when I have to pull someone to the side and remind them.

I don't ban anyone for posting their views. However I would ban someone if they were posting an argumentative viewpoint after every freaking post made by someone on the forum. That is just annoying.

I see some that want to leave the forum just because someone has a different political view and that makes me confused. I'm confused because I can't remember anyone on the forum forcing someone to click on a link and read. Nobody should feel that they have to leave the forum. Heck I even give you the tools to block certain people and their post and activity. I even give you the ability to block the whole thread or topic from showing up.

I get people that ask me why we even have a NSFW section and an off topic section. The forum is about the Polaris Slingshot. The reason for the off topic sections is simple. It would get real boring real fast if we all just talked about the slingshot. No one has that much daily new slingshot information to keep content fresh.

If yall see someone just being a dick let me know. I don't read these threads. I can't. It's just to much to look at every day. Every day we average 190 to 250 post. I never reveal who tells me stuff so if you have a legitimate complaint let me know. I can promise you I will look into it asap.

I hit the "Ignore Thread" on that one years ago!  mytoy, also you need to block users. Big Dog hasn't upset me for a very long time because I've ignored him for a very long time.

rabtech, I pretty much agree with everything you posted above. The one exception is when folks post political comments in a thread that is supposed to be about something else. It's easy to avoid a clearly labeled "Other Topic" such as a politically-oriented thread, but the comments do seem to have started popping up in many other places, making it hard to ignore them. I try to ignore political postings simply because I know I'm right and anyone who disagrees with me is obviously wrong!

do you Bigdog even realize that 99% of the complaints are because of you? does it even bother you Bigdog that you are the most blocked, and the most ignored member on this forum?

complaining about all the POLITICs in a slingshot forum and putting your complaint in the slingshot only part of the forum ....when there is an actual non slingshot section for such topics....is that a joke? All of my political, conspiracy or other non slingshot posts are not in the slingshot only section....
