Wife's LED Install

No other mods left to do, so figured it was time to knock out the wife's LED lights. The work bench looked like this when I started, but wanted to lay it all out and get an idea of how it was supposed to go together before starting! Have Wheel ring lights, Halo's, and a night rider bar to install. Plan is to wire to my fuse box in driver storage area as that fuse block is on ignition on etc...

TRIC LED lights used - and started with the halos. Typical alcohol, prep, install. Taking the one torx out for the headlights on the outside will allow you to route the wire properly. The halo harness has six plugs to accommodate for Canadian light setups. Pretty easy to tuck away after you start at one end of your halos and work your way towards where your fuse/control box is going.

Next was the magic night rider bar - this one I wanted so I could do the Kit red light if I wanted to! Mounted it recessed up front and wired it into power I had used for the LED brows, so this one was super easy to get going and got to play with it right away.

Next was the wheel lights. Should of been pretty straight forward but this was the first time I had a jack under my sling since the coil overs were installed at my buddies house. Since it was up on jacks for months, we didn't put tires back on to measure OEM ride height like we were supposed to and just mounted. Needed two spins front and 1.5 spins rear to clear my jack and while I know it was higher OEM going to leave it here for now and adjust handling as we get to ride more. Wheel rings are pretty easy after you get the two 17mm bolts out holding caliper on. You don't actually have to remove them, can pull one at a time, put through ring mount, then put back in etc... On the front you need a 15mm to get the tierod bolt out as the fronts have 3 mounting points on the ring. I did put a zip tie on each side of the bracket as if I ever did have an issue with the adhesive, these should at least keep them from getting into the works of the tire!

Next was taking all this wire mess and making it look pretty. Wife came out to the garage and asked if I needed a hand, who's going to say no to that! She helped me feed the loose end through stuff so we could make it clean looking. Also cleaned up the power in my driver storage area since I ran another wire to power this controller to that fuse box.

Little walk around after they were all installed. Having an issue with one halo up front, only 1/2 of it's working so need to check with Tric to see what might be going on with that one.

Wife filmed me backing into garage, love that ZZP rear exhaust sound!

  • This is super cool! This is also the stuff I have no real experience doing and am a little intimidated to try.

I so want to trick mine out with lights, but no idea where to even start!!

    • Lots of good info on the forums here just hit that search bar and type in LED and browse the threads that pop up to get ideas. Installing them is actually pretty easy and if you want to get setups that are pretty much plug and play it's a little pricier but TricLed has some good setups. They also support them, having an issue with that one halo and them sending me a replacement under warranty for free I like a company that can stand behind what they sell! Good luck and just dive in is my advice!
