Turbo work continues...

Well there was some good today and some challenges, but like anything else I expect ups and downs. I'll leave it there and just get into it.

The Good:
Just how many times are we going to have to take the radiator, intercooler, etc....off? While I maybe frustrated my buddy is very meticulous and wants to make sure this is 100% done right and to his standards. I can totally appreciate that and noticed today just how meticulous he is when all the hose labels are facing so you can see the brand and are right side up. I don't think people will be asking about who's parts these are with DDM and ZZP labels all over! That said the radiator fan air box came out and got trimmed. Instructions say you can do this in the car and you could have but wanting to keep the nicks on my pipes and stuff to a minimum we pulled out.

With that done, we (my buddy) went to work getting everything else buttoned up. Coolant hoses are ran, pipes all ran, sensors wired, PCM put back in. Some real progress for sure and feels like we are getting really close to wrapping the turbo part up.

The Challenge - I bought this turbo used so expected to run into some things. The wastegate is a Tial MVS wastegate and should of had a vale seat or "fire ring" I guess they are also called. It didn't and why I'm pretty sure the previous owner had issues as any boost made would of just escaped this wastegate etc... So I got the part ordered from Tial, but as you can see this didn't fit. Pretty sure a mistake was made as this should be the MVS valve seat and order form says so but no way this is fitting. I also need a 325 size/model t-post hose clamp - but once I have those two pieces we can go through and double check all hose connections but it should be ready to go! So close, just hate not being able to move forward due to waiting on parts...

Tomorrow is another day and my buddy is off, so hoping to make a little more progress on the exhaust side of the turbo. I also got some Hawk break pads from DDM that should go on tomorrow and maybe the springs from RevDynamics. Those things can keep moving while I wait on the other parts, but getting closer to hearing this thing have some life in it again and can't wait!
