It Begins...modifications!

If your one of those rare breeds that kept your slingshot 100% stock and/or simple modifications... I applaud your level of self control! For us the desire to modify things was balanced with my personal trait of being a cheap ass. While I'm cheap, I've learned over the years it's also better to buy and cry once when it comes to certain things. I also had to try to balance my desire to really focus on performance with the wife's desire on how it looked. Here's our mod list so far, you can decide who's winning on the performance/looks battle!

DDM Swaybar - 1st mod as I didn't like the way the steering felt in the front end on some mountain curves

DDM Coolant tank - the start of adding RED to the engine bay and I was already ordering from DDM

Hood Vent - Replaced the oem one with a functional vent to reduce some heat

Twist Valve cover - starting to like the red look in engine bay

Interior floor mats - another attempt at helping with heat

DDM short shifter / new knob - I didn't like the stock shifter and throw, love this mod as the one who drives it most!

PRP seat covers - wife picked these out

Rear Wing - got lucky and got this used from local slingshot owner changing things up

Pedal Maxx - got this from the guy who sold me the wing and I love it. Really makes a difference in the way the sling feels!

Optima Yellow Top & Mount - battery was a left over from a group buy again the local group hooked it up and mount wasn't cheap, but didn't want to fab something up it stays put!

Tric LED front eyebrows - the wife really liked how these looked on our friends slings at night and I liked how they change color with blinker!

Tric LED blinking break light - we liked on the night rides how much of a safety factor this upgrade gives

Tric LED hoops - again, at night this makes the slingshot really noticeable

LED golf cart under glow - Was $49 bucks at time I got it and easy to install. Figured if it worked on golfcart and was waterproof tubes it'd work for sling under glow

LED interior kit - 4 piece interior kit from Amazon for $19 - kinda neat in that it came with a mic and has mode to respond to sound. Not as yellow as I wanted however

Removeable Steering Wheel - I'm happy to say I did this one for like $130, with most of that in the hub adapter and quick release

License Plate Mount - I really didn't like the plastic look of the OEM one and wanted a spot to hang my bells

Air Horn - stock horn had to go, this one is small yet loud

I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but that's the bulk of what we've done so far. Happy to say along with the maintenance so far (engine oil and diff) all these mods were done by me. This is kind of a big deal as I'm not known to be mechanically inclined. That said it's been awesome during this covid crazyness to have something to work on with my 14yr old. He's actually been a big help at times and giving us some good father n son moments. Like when lights were done and him wanting to go to a car club meeting at night, only so he could pimp with the lights on :D There are more mods to come and I can attest to the boxes piling up, but I'll save those for future posts as they are installed. Until then here's a few vids to show you where things are currently!
