Ok I guess I have to chime in now also. My wife and watched all the the testimony from both of them and then all the crap the 2nd day. My biggest issue is that there are too many things she doesn't remember. I'm an ex-cop, talked to quit a few sexual assault victims, I personally know 2 women who were raped over 20 years ago. One thing consistant with all the women is that they remember every single detail about when it happened, where it happened, the smells in the air, the pattern of wallpaper, how they got there and what happened afterwards and much more. Also if and when they sa the attacker they typically would get scared or cry or worse. They never would just walk up and say hi to them 6 weeks later at work.

@MrGrey My alarm cost about $139 plus some extras I bought. I added a relay to hook up interior lights and some lights outside that go on when the SS is turned off or the alarm is turned off. This would be the dome light on a car coming on when you unlock the doors. I tapped in to the parking lights so they flash. I also purchased the motion sensor which I ended up removing as the shock sensor is sensitive enough if someone gets in or bumps it. Its a 2 stage sensor so light touches just get a chirp and hard or multiple bumps get full siren and lights. Both will set off my pager. It also had a remote start that I didn't use. So between wire, relays and some extras it was about $200 with me doing the install.

    Oh and " I dudits!!"

I installed a python car alarm system myself. I already have the guard dog so that takes care of the ignition kill but I wanted it for the shock sensor and motion sensor. It also pages me if its bumped or set off. Wasn't that hard to install. I ended up removing the motion sensor as the shock sensor is good enough if someone bumps it or tries to get in.

Yea I think this upset quit a few riders but hey tough for you. We did a local Shriners bike run for kids, was a huge turnout and we were the only SS to show up. Lot of people looking and taking pics. We even made the cover pic for the event on the local webpage as well as 2 more pics in the slideshow. My buddy has a very custom Harley and wasn't happy he didn't get a single pic taken.

Speculation but true. The 2 rides I've done this year people complained about the SS being there. Luckily the organizers didn't listen and we rode but I just don't understand why they get so offended. If it come to that with me I will show them the motorcycle reg, plate and helmet required in my state.

Just curious about the bags, if you can call them bags. Very pricey but they look nice. The carrying weight listed for the SS is 457 lbs. The bags are almost 80 lbs. That only leaves 380 lbs and I go about 250ish... My wife ain't 130 anymore and no there is no we have no capacity left to even put anything in the bags or behind the seats. What's the most other have carried? Would aftermarket shocks up the load limit?

They actually have a post on the business page about people creating fake accounts and posting false information about them. Also all the vids and pics from all 3 accounts are gone now.

No waves at all in the northeast it seems. Last week we did our first bike run, around 500 bikes and only 2 slings. The other sling showed up right before we started the ride so maybe they knew how people felt. All morning there were people looking at it, say 50/50 response kinda like politics today. Either they thought it was cool and bitched about it being there. Some even complained to the organizers that we shouldn't be there or allowed to ride. I think the real issue is that a lot of these bikers put $$$$$$$ in to making their bike special and when a slingshot shows up and gets all the attention they get pissy.

Just curious if anyone bought the 2018 service manual. The Polaris site says its 2015-2018 manual but I know they changed wiring and ride command on the 2018 so I'm wondering how it covers all those years, or does it not cover any wiring schematics? did they add new pages for the 2018's? Want to order one but I'll be pissed if its wrong and they say it can't be returned.

Always used one when sledding or riding. Can't count the number of times large pieces of ice or road debris had hit my helmet. Thinking with the slingshot being even lower to the ground it may happen more. This scorpion helmet at least lets me remove parts if its too hot and comes with a clear and smoked shield that you can change in about 10 seconds.

So I got the viper alarm system installed. Wasn't too bad as I didn't do the ignition kill as I have the guard dog system as well. Just using a shock sensor and motion sensor. So far the motion sensor seems adjusted well as it chirps if you're right next to it and only does off if you get in or stand there too long. Even with the cockpit cover on it seems ok. Although I also found out there really isn't a dry spot when you wash them. Really if I did it over I would mount the brain in the glove box as car alarm brains are not waterproof.

So just picked up our new SLR yesterday and had a great time with it. Wife and I put 120 miles on it already. One thing I noticed is that the driver seat seems to have a little play in it that it will rock a little back and forth. I saw a post about a seat recall for welds and did a VIN search and mine came up negative. Just wondering if this is a common issue or should I bring it back to the dealer. It's not a huge issue but I don't want it getting worse or breaking. I also don't wanna give it back for them to work on for a week already.

OK Maybe I shouldn't have called it a "shock" sensor. bump sensor, or vibration sensor? I just have to make sure the wife doesn't bring any toys with her......

Well I decided to go with a multiple alarm approach. I've ordered the keyless starting RFID kit from slingmods that should help with not being able to start the sling. I also ordered a Viper 5806V 2 way paging alarm with a motion and shock sensor to take care of keeping people away. I've installed the Viper alarms before so I think it should be doable. I guess I'm paranoid about it but I've heard toomany stories of people coming out to find people sitting in their slings to take pics or someone stealing the sparco shift knobs and I wont take kindly to that, unless they're topless, maybe...
