I will offer a small tip from my biking days that has to do with exhaust fumes at stop lights. Most car exhausts exit on the passenger side. To reduce your exposure at stops, try to use the left lane when possible.

Don't loose hope and don't take drastic measures until talking with others on this forum. I am a new kid on the block here so there are many others better equipped to assist you than I. They have done about everything that can be done so the chance of you or I coming up with something they have not already mastered is slim to none. Reach out, they will respond.
thanks for the help, it gives me some perspective and a way to go. Home Depot is actually my second home so I will stop by and look at getting the lexan. I have all of the carpenter tools that anyone could ask for, well minus my lathe I just sold that. but otherwise I have them all. Might even try to find out how I can light up the restrictor and use window etching and make some cool designs while I am at it lol.

Back in the early days, catalytic converters were stink bombs when new. Rotten egg smell, as I recall. I would flog the beast a few more miles down the road before getting to fussy about the smell. Mine is a 2015, so there might be differences, but my wonderful yet fussy wife has never commented on exhaust smell - just noise, wind, rain, heat, cold, floorboard heat (floor mat fixed that), lack of storage ( @Jdin fixed that - thanks buddy!), and what the helmet does to her hair. But, never exhaust smell.

well mine has not been out in all of that except the cold so we have not crossed those bridges just yet. in due time. . . . . . . . . . . but it only took one or two trips to get the exhaust thing.

Funny you mention that. We had the same idea but honestly once your get it in there it is not very noticeable. When viewed from the rear there just isn't that much of it visible. Now if you want to really take a plunge you could do completely away with the center hump, put your 3rd brake lights on top of the humps then you would be able to show off some handy work on the wind restrictor.
Just a quick note about the wind restrictor: Ours is still a work in progress. When we are satisfied with it we will use it as a pattern for the permanent one to me made from. It will need to be spaced out slightly from the bottom of the hoops which actually makes it align with a groove in the top that it can recess up into. I will post pic's but keep in mind this one was made from scrap material and is only a pattern. -
Ok so here is the pic of the installed slingshade. the one that was supposed to take a professional 2 hours and cost $308 just to install. lol. wow.

Thank you. I am liking it so far, but driving it for the first time with the top was different, it was a little less of the open air view lol.
