How do they release?
You press the button. Very easy. Nice and mechanical feeling.

Awesome, I have springs mounted up by windshield and still have problems with latches not releasing I think this would fix that also.

I'll keep this thread updated if my experience with these changes. I'm also going to look at exactly what he used for reference when installing these. He was looking for a very specific spot. Since you're cutting a hole through your hood screw ups are not permitted. You're also going to need that little hole saw that he was using. I'm assuming it would be dirt cheap as small as it was.

I'm with you, but this is a hell of a mod in my opinion.

Did he drill from the bottom or top side, my guess top side is safer to not damage hood. You could use greaser or something similar on top of the ball stud and close hood to mark from the bottom side drill a small hole to transfer and then tape of hood and drill. I would buy this from the guy if available and be happy to pay for the R and D.

He drills up through the bottom first making the hole in the subframe and marking where it is on the hood and then down through the top.

I'm with you on this one... regardless know this... It looks really good, like Polaris could have done it from the factory so don't be put off just yet. I like the idea but I want to see if I can hide it underneath or use and similar product but in a different location.

If it cures the fender fluttering at high speeds, hell, I'd do it. Those things are scary at high speeds (triple digits and I'm not saying how high ). I stare at them wondering if they're not going to rip off every time I venture into the errrrr, upper echelon of the speed spectrum . Especially bad during windy days (of which we have plenty of over here).
@Cameron Roberts and @rabtech, please keep us informed even via pm if need be.
Thanks for the post. -

Thanks for the post. The fluttering is completely eliminated. As long as the hole holds up then they're an absolute must.

What in hell? After you talk about drilling everything else??

How much horse power do they add. If they add at least 10hp I want a set.

It has to reduce some wind drag. You get to drop your fenders flat on the turn signals.

that's a scary as sh#% comment, and gives food for thought..........
On a second note- I could no more do this install myself, than fly to the moon- I couldn't hold a drill perpendicular to a perfectly normal surface, much less the curvature of the hood! (to say nothing about the cajones to drill into my hood- Installation by this guy was CHEAP!)

Well a hole saw is pretty easy to handle. You would be fine. You can also purchase those panels painted or unpainted from Polaris.
