I'd like to upgrade my stock shifter. Any recommendations/what did you install that you really like? Photos appreciated, but not necessary!
Shifter Knobs...

-
Okay guys, a lady wants to see our knobs so let's help her out!
Shifter boot from SlingMods (orange thread but picture didn't capture it), Alpha shifter, Sickspeed shifter ball
-
I've been told I "MIGHT" reply....Hey, Tripod...I sure like your knob. (thanks for the late night giggle!)
But seriously, I was looking at the metal shifters and then thought they might get too hot when I park out in the sun. The review on one said they had it about three months before the whole thing started fading and cracking.
I don't want a pool ball, a skull, a baseball themed knob, or one of the "girls"... (eew).
Floor mats ordered. Much easier.

I did the sparco silver and black one and I really like it. The grooves are just textured enough to get a little grip.
-
This one is a cheap one I picked up at Pep Boys...has multiple LED lights in it. Using the supplied adapters I was able to put it on the stock shaft. Bought it last year and I think I had either 10 or 15 bucks in it.

DDM short-throw shifter with their shift knob. PRP shift boot with gray stitching.
-
I put in a momo

Jimsgirl, don't worry, you're in good company. From what I hear, most women giggle looking at Tripod's knob - late night or not.(love you Tripod, but as Stickdick says "in a manly way"
-
I put in a momo
gonna have one just like this for sale in Maggie Valley - perfect condition - went with chrome knob - imagine that
-
Went with the skull. Billet
-
Been running this set up for a little over a year now and still like the look of the combo...................
-
Bought this one off eBay for about 30.00.
Had to JB weld a helicoil inside to screw it on. Real easy. -
DDMWorks sells these: Ultimate Shift Knob for Polaris Slingshot by DDMWorks
No adapter needed, have not had a heat issue in the AZ sun.
-
Think I bought mine from Speed Dawg.

DDM I did the whole shifter kit with the Stainless steel ball

.
Made the mistake of installing a solid stainless steel shift knob in a convertible once....between the heat from the transmission and an hour parked in the mid day FL sun with the top down it was almost impossible to drive barehanded ....
In an open vehicle I prefer leather, carbon, or delrin (stays the coolest).........
Went with a Delrin Fathead in the SS mounted on a 1320 Performance adapter..........
Added a PRP shifter boot later ..better than the stock rubber but they skimp on the material so it pulls in anything other than neutral ..... wish someone made something that works better ...

Agreed, mine pictured a post above yours, was a bit of a disappointment when it arrived the other day. For the price it wouldn't have hurt to add a few more square inches of material. It doesn't really 'pull' in gear, but it sure as hell doesn't look like an OEM quality item either. Still, it fits the adapter snuggly, which the factory rubber boot doesn't do properly... Thinking back to my Triumph sports cars of the late sixties and early seventies; their boots were voluminous in comparison...

Holy smokes now your telling me there's 4 Slingshots in Canada! That kind of reminds me of shifting in a semi.

Purchase at amazon, with the correct thread size for adapter.
