I don't mind snakes. When I was in high school I had a python. It's the dang spiders I hate. I absolutely hate hate hate spiders.

I'm only 5' 9" on a good day! You have a 6' snake under your shop? @MACAWS, I love you like a brother, but I won't be having any work done on my SS in your shop any time soon. Seriously, snakes and I have an understanding....they don't mess with me, and I don't scream like a girl!!!!! Snakes, spiders, and green M&Ms with peanuts!!! That's where I draw the line! As for the green M&Ms with peanuts...if you have never been shot with one, fired from a "wrist-rocket slingshot", don't judge me!!! I still have nightmares from that!!!!!
Just in case you have never seen a "wrist rocket slingshot"...
Go ahead, pity me!!! Back in the day, this was the PREMIERE slingshot!!! I just happen to be on the receiving end at that time!!!Yes the wrist rocket slingshot and a daisy BB gun....memories....!

@DKF Texas given the right snake and right situation I bet I can scream, cry, outrun ya anytime of the week. When I cut grass at my ranch I am HEAVILY armed to fend off those slithering Devils. THE ONLY GOOD SNAKE IS ONE IN MANY PIECES!!!

Bill - being a retied lawyer I would have imagined you have lots of experience on handling snakes without killing them. You should be defending these poor creatures

Got to agree with you @rabtech, spiders creep me out too. We have the Carolina Wolf Spider, mostly see them in the early fall. They get into my pool skimmer and I'm always hesitant to reach in there to pull it out for cleaning, and they don't drown very easily. They are big and creepy. Even their description is creepy.
"They are robust and agile hunters with excellent eyesight. They live mostly solitary and hunt alone. Some are opportunistic hunters pouncing upon prey as they find it or even chasing it over short distances."

Here's a western diamondback rattler caught not very far from my house...
I know they eat the mice but the birds need to eat too and there aren't to many poisonous birds. Plus I like to see the raptors. Snakes, good for boots and belts!

You can always combine the two & get a "feather boa"...

Yes, 5 species of rattlesnakes exist in this area but the western diamondback is the most prevalent. Have seen quite a few. If you don't bother them, they won't bother you. They're kind enough to warn you if you're too close...

Found this little guy in street in front of house on Thursday..thankfully got run over by the Garbage truck. Little under 2 feet long..coral snake.

@MACAWS I luv ya but where do I start??? You are correct I have dealt with two legged snakes on both sides of the aisle (and the bench) but I got really good at spotting them before they became a danger to me. A friggin snake will bite your butt if you happen to get too close without seeing em. I ain't good enough to tell the poisonous ones from the "good" one. That being said I assume any snake in my personal space has intent to do me great bodily harm which results in me resorting to deadly force. This policy has served me well so ......snakes you have been warned!! Best bullshit lawyer talk I can give you on this subject

You guys should be ashamed I had to tackle this guy today before I left the house!

We've had Gators in the ditches where I live (SW FL) for years, some get pretty big but no one has ever had any troubles with them. Venomous snakes are a lot more to worry about and now we have some new visitors to add to the massive snakes in the glades.

You do realize the biggest predators in Florida are divorced old women on the hunt for new wood
