So reading through my latest issue of Car and Driver and was wondering about this motor as an upgrade. At the moment it seems like a wad of cash (search reveals $7600) for a 100HP upgrade but that's not completely out of the realm of what some are already spending for a turbo, or soon to be available super charged option, for the 2.3L we currently have. Would this also not be more of a drop-in upgrade vs. the shoehorn of the V8? Meaning the V8 is simply awesome for those that want massive power, but for someone that might want an factory performance motor would this not be another way to go?
Just to clarify, I am not trying to suggest that that current turbo options are not stellar options, because they are and the little 4 banger that comes standard is an excellent platform but for the money it seems there would be an avenue here to drop-in a performance motor and you still have one to power your next school go-cart project.
