Good read. Managed to stay on the non-biased stance. It all boils down to one thing. The Slingshot defies categorization. Each State has it's own little quirks about the Slingshot. Just make sure you check with your local statutes. It's meant for fun. Just ride...obey the law...and have a buttload of fun with it. Call it what you want...just ride the damn thing and enjoy it!!!

They should have told him how to dodge road debris when he picked it up.

I forgot to add that everyone interested in the Slingshot or two-wheel motorcycles should join the American Motorcyclist Association (American Motorcyclist Association > Home). The AMA supports all aspects of riding and is a strong lobby protecting our riding, ranging from opposing intrusive regulation to fighting attempts to require a higher ethanol percentage in our gas which could damage a lot of motorcycles as well as small equipment not rated for anything higher than E10. Three-year or automatic membership renewal also includes free towing benefits for ALL vehicles belonging to your family, subject to some limitations. See - AMA Roadside Assistance Plus - American Motorcyclist Association.

Yesterday I got confirmation that the slingshot is indeed a motorcycle, or at least accepted as close enough by a very tough group of judges.
This weekend, starting yesterday, the Mongols are holding their annual meeting here in Palm Springs an event that has been taking place since 2013. Anyway because of this event there are a large number of their members riding around the area and on my way home yesterday I couldn't help but notice the large increase of motorcycles on the road and the more rugged appearance of this particular group, but I also noticed that every single one of them acknowledged me with friendly nod and a thumbs up or a wave
The way I see it, if a group like the Mongols is giving me "the wave" the Slingshot must be a motorcycle
Perhaps Ishould head over their hotel today and see if I can join - - - - yea, never mind

Shouldn't have to dodge road debris in the state with the highest taxes.
