I wanted to get a windshield support for my SS but seeing the ripoff prices out there and as a woodworker I decided to make my own. Here is my version of the windshield support. If anyone is interested I can make them per request but only in black. $25 plus shipping. They are painted in black with up to 8 coats of lacquer.
Built my own windshield support

Check again @dangerdarrell

Is this for a Ripper and can you attach a Ram Mount?
-
Not sure what a ripper is or a Ram mount. I have this on my SS Sl with the factory stock windshield
-
I have a 17 SLR. windshield is low and tinted. Called a Ripper. Ram Mount attaches to other windshield braces so you can mount phones, nav systems, etc.
-
This one is simple. Made from maple wood. If anyone wants to add anything to it they can simply screw it into the support. Otherwise I built it just for the window support. In the future I might change the style and maybe add some threaded inserts, but for now it's just a window support.

Sounds good. Getting ready for and concentrating on Eureka right now so I will get back with you afterwards.

Awesome, Enjoy that ride and share some pics please
-
@dangerdarrell, look at the picture. I see the angled bends of a Ripper windshield.
Nice work thinking outside of the box. This is how we modified for the first year or so before the vendors got on board. -
Looks good.

- Thank you @Slingrazor and @123hotdog

The Polaris windshield brace comes with a medal mounting base plate that gos under the plastic that the brace bolts to, And not just to the two push pins ....
-
-
@hunter There is a base under the dash that you have to install by removing the radio that secures the windshield support. This is held on with two bolts from the top and two locking washers and locking nuts from inside the radio compartment.
I know that.....And it [The plate] comes with the Polaris medal windshield brace for safety reasons,
If by chance a heavy object should hit the windshield the brace will not rip off....Its medal mounted to medal..And pre drilled and threaded to attach what ever to it...And at 75 dollars a bargain ...IMO... -
