ANNND the next pass
143.45 mph in Indy. Now on to Ocala....

-
This mph doesn't mean anything to me. Is this a quater mile run? If so, I'm more interested in the actual time.
-
You know I'm trying my best to remember who on the forums used to say they ran 150mph in a stock slingshot... I swear I remember a thread on the dark side where some people said they had held their gas pedal to the floor for however long and it was over 150mph.
I seriously dont think terminal velocity for a slinshot pushed out of a airplane would be near 150mph....
Had a lady saying she had hit 160....needless to say by the end of the conversation her husband had told her that and it was a fish tale...y’all be safe out there

Soon as I made the 143.45mph @Kyle D and his crew came over and were very good sports about it. They congratulated me and showed extreme professionalism.
They packed up and headed back to Michigan after that last run. Mainly because of how hot it is. It's about 95 degrees.
I want to say that my DDMWorks engine was performing flawlessly. And @Dave@DDMWorks has beenv dialing me in closer and closer all weekend.. Thanks Dave

Congrats, you'd get more power if it were cooler although warmer will slightly reduce drag. For every 10 degree drop in temp (similar humidity), you gain about 1.5% hp on a n/a engine. Not sure what the impact might be with boost BUT I'd imagine there still would be a significant gain if it were cooler.

143.45mph MAD PANDA

I love you guys. And gals.

I had the panda on board today...

Super happy you ran that! Congrats to you on that. I was really hoping one of us would hit 145mph. The last 2 runs I took the wind sheer moved me over about 6’ sideways. I was no longer willing to risk it. This was before @rabtech ran 143. I loaded up my SS for MI and saw he was back out. I decided to wait and see what would happen. He hit I THINK 140 and then hit another lap and picked up 3mph which is a TON. I would be lying if I said I didn’t contemplate for a moment getting it back out to try and beat that but I accomplished what I went to do and made a big improvement over my speed at Speedfest. My hat is off to @rabtech for taking the top spot as the ½ mile Sling King......for now. I think if any of you were contemplating coming to Ocala, after seeing what we ran this weekend, you’d be crazy to not make the trip to Ocala to watch us battle it out again. I had a great time this weekend.
We went head to head once and holy shit once he hits 3rd gear he blew by me like I was standing still. I just make all my speed up on the back half.
I also got to meet @Ghost and a couple others and they were all a great group to spend the weekend with talking "Slingshop"....I just made that Slingshop up.
Again, congrats rabtech! If anyone was going to “dethrone” me I’m glad it was you.
See you all in Ocala!

Just wanted to say congratulations to @rabtech and also to @Kyle D, it was very fun hearing about the back and forth speeds this weekend and hats off to both of you for pushing the new record that much higher for the Slingshot. Last time we were in Ocala running, we thought 131mph was fast and now we have both of you over 140mph, just amazing, what a huge jump! Definitely looking forward to Ocala now and another meetup down there and seeing everyone, that is going to be a lot of fun!
Once again congratulations to both of you for pushing new territory with the Slingshot!

Good to see you guys both made it over 140mph!
If it were me, I would look long and hard on how far I could lower my Slingshot after removing the front lower nose. Something tells me if there is less air going under the Slingshot, you will see a big difference in drag from the big akward rear wheel. That area is a killer on the Slingshot.
Also, I would be sure to run a low ripper windscreen and tape up some areas. Still have one for sale if someone is in need before the FL event.... -
@rabtech , @Dave@DDMWorks and @Kyle D congratulations to all of you guys.... Amazing to see these numbers. 145 next and then one to 150. Looking forward to seeing where this goes.

damn I left a few hours ago . was having an absolute ball. but thought I'd get the 6 hour trip home underway as I drove through the night to get there for 8:00 AM this morning. at that time @rabtech was only at 141.85 but I should have known he wasn't finished lol just checked the forum, to see he nailed it with 143.45 as soon as I left ! Congrats @rabtech it was a ball hanging with you guys @Ghost and @ghostryder. and the entire ZZP crew . Kyle spent the last couple weeks upping the anti reaching into the ZZP bag of "built " goodies and this weekend demonstrated for all this new ZZP turbo kit , in any realm !! This entire bunch at Indy Airpark today showed the Slingshot world results unheard of until this weekend and I was absolutely thrilled to be there. Watching the comraderie of these two major contenders was the best part .Kyle and Rabtech scoured over each other's builds and shared advise as absolute professionals. It Was A Blast ! can't wait for Ocala !

heh @StickerDick I've noticed in the past you like to ham it up A bit and poke the Panda when you get a chance, and last week you posted you couldn't make this event as you were awaiting the arrival of your new rebuilt Honda capable of doing 135mph at Ocala My question now is , is it too late for a refund ?

How long did it take to finish that 1/2 mile? I'm trying to equate it to quarter-mile velocity.
