To all who have stood by reading and praying for me through all the health issues since January, I finally have something good to share. I had the skin cancer surgery done last week and the stitches removed today. The scar doesn't look too bad since most of it will be hidden with the beard. But more importantly, they got all the cancer out and I'm officially cancer free. I still have a few remaining health issues to deal with and hope that some of them are gone before the Eureka Springs trip, but I'm going regardless. I'll know more next week about my back surgery, but at this time we're hoping to have it done in early November. If all goes well, this year will be a "rebuilding" year and 2019 will be great.
Thanks for all the public and private prayers, texts and emails as well as a couple of phone calls (yea, really, people still do talk on the phones). Deep thanks to Connman Jimmy and Bill Martin who put up with for 6 solid months of pain, complications and down right "pissed off at the world" attitude. I can't say I wouldn't have made it without you, but it sure helped make it easier.
Now I know we're all pulling for Bill Martin to recover from his major issues and we're looking forward to seeing him in Eureka Springs as well
I signed up for this forum thinking that there would be a lot of like minded individuals who shared the same interest in the slingshot. Along the way that morphed into a family of friends who'll do anything you've asked of them, plus a whole lot more that they took upon themselves to make life easier. Strangers that you've never met have been adopted into a family you'd never be able to thank as long as you live. I'm so glad to have this and proud to call you all family
