Go ahead and dig the teeth into the plastic to get them to hold - unless it's a temporary installation. Then don't scratch the plastic!
Max number of things hooked directly to battery?

I have the hot and ground jump ports installed behind my seat, in front of th battery....
After what I just encountered I wish I would have installed the one under the hood....the studs are rotating...even after tightening up the lock nuts. I don’t want to keep tightening them because the teeth on then is digging into the plastic.
Just my observation and advice...I actually think they are a good idea, but ......
It is the teeth biting into the plastic that holds them in place. Mine don’t rotate.

Bigdog: loosen them up enuf to get some RED Loktite on the threads, then tighten back up. Can't imagine why they don't stay tight, but the Loktite should work. Or better yet, put some JB Weld epoxy on the threads and behind the washer. They won't come lose again.
FWIW: i had no problem with former SS or current one staying tight.
