Fumoto oil drain plug

Yes and few other, see
Did the first oil change since installing my Fumoto oil plug Quik-valve. EASY!!!
-
I have the Fumoto oil valve shown in the first post in the link referred to above. That particular valve required an extension to clear the recess in the oil pan the drain plug fits into. Fumoto has a newer style valve the SX series that uses a large hollow bolt that holds the valve in place and allows the valve to be positioned as needed. SX Series Fumoto® Engine Oil Drain Valves | Fumoto® USA. The SX valve still needs an adapter because of the oil pan recess - ADP-107SX | Fumoto® Engine Oil Drain Valves
You can order direct from Fumoto or buy on EBay. You'll need the F107SX valve and the ADP-107SX adapter. A little over $40 with shipping for both.
My F-107 valve is currently mounted upside down, I assume due to the way the threads were cut into the pan and I intend to upgrade the F-107SX/ADP-107SX at some point. -
I just hit the buy button for the updated version...F107SX....are you saying I still need the adapter too..

using the Make, Year, Model selections from the links above the website states "These Fumoto parts are compatible with your vehicle: * There's a shallow recess in the oil drain port of the Slingshot. To install a valve, you'll first need to install the ADP-107 or ADP-107SX adapter if you choose the F107SX."
website links provided states that ...... "*An adapter may be required if the valve cannot be completely tightened due to contact with the oil pan or if the valve can only be oriented in a straight down position on low clearance vehicles." which directly correlates with this statement in GREEN
-
Will be installing mine in a couple hundred more miles, I did order the adapter as the recess looks like a upsidedown u and the adater will be needed.
-
I too use it, like it a lot, and he adapter needed. Oil pan has a recessed digit around drain plug.

If the adapter is required for our vehicle it should be listed as such when you input the vehicle info....stupid site. It shouldn’t be a foot note in fine print...just say I need the adapter so I can buy it...WTF.. how can a person tell if the valve won’t tighten down because of a pan recess unless they already have it in hand under the vehicle?
Once I get the drain valve I’ll go to the hardware store plumbing section and find an adapter the fit the threads...probably be able to buy it for the $5 shipping charge...saving the cost of the adapter...just saying..

yup, using the link from @BKL its buried right there in the 3rd line with one of those asterisks - I mean who knows what those are for
All kidding aside, are you waiting to ride because you need an oil change and you have to install the drain on this oil change or never ride your Slingshot again?
-
I’m running the crap out of it....my next change is 3000 miles away....just getting ready lots of time to find an adapter...I think it should be pretty easy to find one locally in a hardware store...if not I can always go back to them for it.... just makes me mad...they advertise the new improved value that’s longer ....so they couldn’t make one as long as with the adapter added?
Or tell you if you have “x” vehicle you will definately need the adapter instead of trying to make you guess? See my point?

Mush as I hate to agree with @Bigdog , I went thru the same experience the first time I tried to install the F-107N valve I currently have installed. I used their lookup tool searching for the correct valve for a 2008 Pontiac Solstice 2.4L engine. Since I had to provide the manufacturer and model info, they should have included the info about the adapter being needed. I ended up paying 2 shipping fees.
-
I called them up and questioned the hell out of them before I bought.

I stupidly relied on their website!

I couldn't find the adapter on their website so I called them and had throw me a link.

I just noticed they now list the Polaris Slingshot as a vehicle. Back when I ordered, I had to search for a vehicle with the same motor.
