Has anybody tinted there tail lights? Not looking to black them out just tint them. I look at my SS and everything is kind of dark like the batman theme, and i go to the back and bam those bright tail lights just stick out lol.

I used rust-oleum lens tint. Very easy, just make sure you put even coats. I went dark and love it. Pics are during daylight with brake light off and on. Good luck

I don't think it is a good idea, but then I'm an old fart. Just like to have all the rear lighting I can get for the half blind people out there, me included.

I want to be seen from the rear, not much protection back there to begin with. Each their own though.

While were on the subject of tinting, I have a spare windshield and was thinking about tinting it, has anybody done this ? if so how long did it last ? and what did you use for tint ??
-
Thanks @KayTwo and @Shatneyman for the info.

I ended up tinting mine with two coats VMT Nightshade and a coat of clear for protection. Use even long passes along the entire tail light for best results. Remember this is a tint. You do not want to build up product in a spot.

I thought you were suppose to tint the inside of the lens...???

That would not be an easy task to achieve. The rear lenses are glued to the housing. They aren't just sealed like headlights.

That's good info... I have the tint bookmarked but have not read any instructions other than wet sanding before you paint. Still on the fence on if I'm going to do it or not.
