I'm doing something cool Saturday.
Driving up to Franklin, NC, for a funeral for Seaman Second Class Frank Wood. Killed at Pearl Harbor, and only identified in 2017, he is going to be buried in Franklin as that's where his closest living relative, a niece, lives.
I'm going up as the head of the Navy delegation, aside from the 1-star admiral who will be there to speak. We'll have a 6-man flag fold, a bugle, and a rifle salute. This is the second one of these I'll have done, and it's one of the most rewarding things I've ever done in 22 years of wearing the uniform.
If any of you guys are close to Franklin, NC (I doubt it, since it's out in the friggin' woods), I'll be driving the Sling up unless the weather changes.
