What time and what would be the dress code?

I know it is an honor for you to participate in that and I appreciate your service.

On another note I love the Franklin area. There is a little restaurant just on the North side of Franklin on the left side of the road as you leave old down town going back up 28 toward 74/19. The name of the restaurant has the word "Sunny" in it but I can't remember the whole name. Anyway it is a great place to eat breakfast with great food good prices, friendly service.

That is a great ride back North on 28!
Another great ride out of Franklin is the Wayah Bald Road that goes by Winding Stairs and comes out at the West end of the Nanatahala gorge.
Then there's,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,oh well there isn't enough room on this forum for all of them!

I had the honor of taking part in the escort for Pfc. Lyle Charpilloz last week. He was also KIA during WWII.

Here is the update from this ride.

Swee and I had the honor to be apart of the funeral procession with the American Legion and other veterans groups.

We were escorting the remains of a WWII sailor who died in Pearl Harbor on USS Oklahoma when his ship was torpedoed several times and the boat rolled over and capsized. He was trapped. He was just 18.

His remains were eventually found and then buried with many others. It wasn’t until recently that they exhumed the bodies of these heroes and did DNA.

He was buried today in Franklin NC.

We had gotten there just before the ride to the cemetery. I stopped and asked direction just to get out of the way. The group of riders said no, you can ride with us.

So here are the pictures from the ride up and back today. I big thank you to KayTwo or Jared for inviting us. It was our honor and privilege and thank you Jared for serving and what you do at these funerals.

What a great tribute to a fallen service member. I'm honored and humbled to be on a forum whose membership has such high regard for those that gave all they had to protect this country. As a person who carries my first and middle name of two of my dads high school buddies that died in the service during World War II I try to honor other service members as often as possible. I sometimes worry if I am bothering others when thanking them but remember how I feel when thanked.

Always remember and thank people who have served this country. Proud to do my little part in supporting organizations that help veterans.
