Ceramic coating turbo/manifold?

  • Quick question about ceramic coating...

I'm wondering other then cosmetic what are the advantages of ceramic coating the hot side of the turbo as well as the exhaust manifold?

    Thanks

  • Basically nothing. It does reduce the rust appearance over time and it MAY reduce some of the exhaust heat, but there's so much heat being given off anyways, it would be hard to tell the difference. The coating will probably not be a gloss black finish, so the dull grey will be as fancy as you'll get

    Nobody gets outta here ALIVE

  • Ceramic coating helps with managing heat; especially on very hot parts likes exhaust headers and turbos.

Owner of Slingshot #263 that has some stock parts left on it. :D

  • I had the headers done on my Cheetah and it does cut the heat, check out Performance Kote Ceramic Coating in Orlando ---- I'm not connected to the company in any way -- they did a great job on my headers

Jet Hot did the header and pipe on my drag bike. I was well pleased with the work they did.
