Our Slingshots are safe !

Oddly enough, this is one of the reasons that I really like manual transmission vehicles; they are pretty much millennial theft-proof and it also reduces the number of people who ask to drive it. Also my daughter is able to drive a manual transmission vehicle very well and she prefers them because it cuts down on the number of her friends who ask to borrow her vehicle.

I learned to drive with 3 on the column (just told everyone my age) long before the auto trans --- and have driven about every configure of stick shift out there.
I do really enjoy the Stick shift on the Slingshot. -

I think I have only had three automatics, I would also have to add in the one Ford truck that I bought to haul motorcycles. (by the way, the only truck I have ever owned)

Three on the tree... I think I found a new MOD going into production and its SECURE
-
Grew up on a 5 spd with a trans axle split shifter and an old International with 2 shift sticks in an "H" configuration.... forget what it was called.
Yeah.... a simple 5 spd is easy peezy

And so many owners are thinking about adding some extra security device to their SlingShot when it comes already equipped????

A would-be carjacker here in Houston shot the driver of the vehicle he tried to carjack when he realized it was a stick and he didn't know how to drive it.

wow, that sucks.....

Would have liked to see that play out...I'm thinking if I get ripped out from behind the wheel of the car (and haven't had an opportunity to shoot the jackhole yet), while I'm standing there watch him fumble with the clutch is a perfect time to magdump him. For sure no way would I hang out waiting to get shot when he figures out he can't drive my rig.

Probably only .01% of the population could drive it off. Just a few of us 'old farts' around that could do it.....

Some kids took a 55 Chevy (I think) the one with the gas tank funnel behind the
tail lights.... about out of gas so they stopped, went in and paid for $20.00 of gas ---couldn't find the where it went in drove off, ran out of gas and left the car -- no damage... -
Hey! Who you calling an old fart.
-
.
Still my favorite ......
But had to learn on an old Mack 3 stick before I even had a licence ..... I'm sure it would make a millennial cry .......

Driver should have told him he has to flip the tranny switch under the hood....and then parked on him..

I learned to drive in a old grain truck with a split. Fun times for a 14 yr old.

Our kids training car, a 1966 Plymouth Valiant, 273ci with three-on-the-tree!
And on the other extreme the split-shifting farm trucks...............
Oh, it was fun growing up in rural USA!
