Things that piss you off

  • And to go one step further, if you're driving down the road and a see a speed limit sign that says 35 MPH, since you're only planning to be on that road for half an hour (and NOT the one hour) can you legally go 70?

    You could...
    but you would miss your turn.

    Slingshot Flyer! Well, of course it's red... :REDSS:

  • I must be getting old since the country today is not the country that most of us enjoyed growing up in. Here's proof. Agree if you believe that life was better in the "good old days"

    NO MATTER WHAT OUR KIDS AND THE NEW GENERATION THINK ABOUT US, WE ARE AWESOME !!!

    Our Lives are LIVING PROOF !!!

    To Those of Us Born 1925 - 1955:

    ~~~~~~~~~
    TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED THE 1930's, 40's and 50's!!
    First, we survived being born to mothers who may have smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant.
    They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.
    Then, after that trauma, we wereput to sleep on our tummiesin baby cribs covered with bright colored
    lead-based paints.
    We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, locks on doors or cabinets, and, when we rode our bikes, we had baseball caps, not helmets, on our heads.
    As infants and children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, no booster seats, no seat belts, nonpadded dash boards, no air bags, bald tires and sometimes no brakes..
    Riding in the back of a pick- up truck on a warm day was always a special treat.
    We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle.
    We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle, and no one actually died from this.
    We ate cupcakes,white bread, real butter, and bacon. We drank Kool-Aid made with real white sugar.
    And we weren't overweight. WHY?
    Because we were always outside playing...that's why!
    We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.
    No one was able to reach us all day ...And, we were OKAY.
    We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride them down the hill, only to find out we
    forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.
    We did not have Play Stations, Nintendos and X-boxes. There were no video games, no 150 channels on cable,
    no video movies or DVDs, no surround-sound or CDs, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet and
    no chat rooms.
    WE HAD FRIENDS And we went outside and found them!
    We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and lost teeth, and there were no lawsuits from those accidents. We would get spankings with wooden spoons, switches, ping-pong paddles, or just a bare hand, and no one would call child services to report abuse.
    We ate worms, and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.
    We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, 22 rifles for our 12th, rode horses, made up games with sticks and
    tennis balls, and - although we were told it would happen - we did not put out very many eyes.
    We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them. Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't, did not receive a participation trophy. They had to learn to deal with disappointment.
    Imagine that!!
    The idea of a parent bailing us out of jail if we broke the law was unheard of ... They actually sided with the law!
    These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers, and inventors ever.
    The past 60 to 85 years have seen an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
    We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all.
    If YOU are one of those born between 1925-1955, CONGRATULATIONS!
    You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good.
    While you are at it, forward it to your kids, so they will know how brave and lucky their parents were.
    Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it ?
    Nobody gets outta here ALIVE
  • You truly want to know what pisses me off....here it is.
    How today nobody takes responsibility FOR ANYTHING!
    You buy a product and dont read the instructions because hey you know everything...screw it up and you blame the manufacturer for making a bad product.
    You dont follow the rules and get penalized and hey...not your fault ...they should change the rules.
    Buy a cup of coffee and use your groin for a cup holder...spill it and burn yourself but hey ...not your fault why did they have to make it so damn hot!
    Go out drinking and get stupid drunk...walking home you walk thru your neighbors yard...you stumble and fall and break your nose and you sue your neighbor...of course you being drunk hand nothing to do with it.
    We have taught this newest generation that they don't have to be held responsible for anything, it is everybody elses fault that my friends is BS!!
    If I acted like that there is no doubt that my father would rise from his grave and beat my A$$ and then tell me how disappointed he was in me because he didn't teach me like that. The A$$ beating would not have hurt as much as disappointing him would have!
    I do not and will let my kids act like that.
    WHAT HAPPENED TO VALUES AND RESPECT!!
  • So your saying that the conservative values everybody was brought up with was just thrown out the window?!?
    NOT MY FAULT I GUESS!!....LOL
    Brought up 2 conservatives - sent them t college so they could have a better start than me. The kids that emerged had values I could not understand..
    The more people I meet
    The more I love my Dog!
  • @SSREAPER - Higher learning professors are so blatantly liberal and instead of encouraging dissenting points of view they suppress them. Have you seen any “safe spaces” for conservatives?? Liberals were very sneaky - they attacked conservatism right under our very noses thru our kids — they gave us millennials and what is coming up under them will be even worse!!!
    I might not be right but I can sure sound like it
  • People who say "what kind of fool do you think I am" then don't give you a list to choose from
    Well.....
    There are three types of fools.
    1. Who does not know that he is a fool.
    2. Who knows that he is a fool.
    3. Who behaves like a fool.
    The third type is actually not a fool, but he, who has mastered the art of living like a fool because, he has to live in the society among fools. He does not have any other choice.
    Which one are you? :D
  • This is more a pet peeve than a piss off...I hate being asked to round up my purchase for this cause or that. I give generously to the causes of my choosing yet still have to be solicited at grocery stores, fast foods, and most other retail outlets. Just the other day when paying at Panera Bread the keypad asked “Would you like to tip your cashier?” REALLY?
