Check Engine code 65620.

  • Update on my Busted Ass Sling. As of yesterday Polaris has agreed to begin to supply the parts that the dealer has been requesting for almost 10 days. I have been very persistent with placing phone calls to the Customer No Service dept and have been speaking with what appears to be a robot most of the time. I get nothing but caned answers and excuses that it the dealers fault for not responding to the request for additional testing on the same parts that were tested and retested. I did finally get a call back from a director at Polaris when I got really irate with the “specialist “ and told him to get off his ass and do something to get my sling fixed.
I know the phone calls are recorded and apparently mine was heard by someone a bit higher up the food chain.
The parts should be arriving on Monday and with a little luck I’ll have her back by the middle of next week.

After seeing and talking to the head mechanic at the dealer he showed me the service report from my ECM. I have been told that I own the fastest Slingshot ever produced. My sling has a record showing the tops speed at 817 KPH at the time of the Check Engine fault was recorded. That 506.22 MPH. And that’s on a naturally aspirated engine. No booster needed.

Wow, you’re driving a production line freak....they are going to want it back for a magazine shoot ....worlds fastest production vehicle.

    I’m jealous....

Digital Wrench is probably our biggest enemy. If it had OBDII, we’d be in mechanic heaven...

If a 15 year old can hack the pentagon why not DW?

And that was at a little over quarter throttle!! Damn

  • I guess @StickerDick and @rabtech can now bow to the master. 817 KPH at only 28.4% throttle is going to be hard to beat! @MWSlingshot can just sit back and take it easy and enjoy the title for a while. 8)

While I would love to hold that title I’m afraid I’m going to have to give that back to @StickerDick and @rabtech. I got mine by default.

  • Any good news there @MWSlingshot? Been almost a week, hope that two week thing for parts has improved?

I’m hoping to pick up my Sling this morning. They finally got the new ECM installed yesterday. So keep your fingers crossed it is all that is needed to fix her.

  • You know we all wishing you the best outcome!

While I Do greatly appreciate all of the members of this forum that have expressed concerns and made great suggestions to help me with this. I have my doubts that this is a permanent fix to this problem. While I will be hopeful for just that, I will always be thinking it’s going to rear it nasty head and show up when I least expect it. It’s going to take many miles this summer riding season to help to alleviate my concern.

  • I'm just shocked that the dealership didn't swap out the ecu with any other slingshot they had (base, sl, whatever - new or used) to see if that was the issue before ordering one and having to wait for it to come in. What a waste of time when (or if) it doesn't correct the issue

Fully understand. But, there are times when a zit is just a zit... even when people can't look you in the eyes because it is square in the middle of your forehead and looking like a pepperoni pizza with double mozzarella cheese. :D

Slingshot Flyer! Well, of course it's red... :REDSS:

  • Well the Sling is back in the garage at home. YEAH. Spent yesterday cleaning up all the shop dust and dirt from sitting for 3 weeks. Definitely a labor of love. The trip from the dealer was without any problems, albeit a short drive cuz it was cold and drizzling rain I didn't waste anytime getting here. I sure hope all is fixed and no more problems with the lack of GO pedal.
