a hat and sun screen for sure
A small cooler for water - it's hard to keep drinks cold with no top .... yeti will help but only until you've emptied it

Always
Jared, on the helmets, id recommend you carry both full and half. I know they take up space, but they don’t take up that much. You’ll appreciate the warmth of the full face on those cold nights that you will inevitably hit. You’ll thank me later
with that naked noggin he is going to need more than a hat.
You think? I've heard that the Dakotas and MT can be pretty sparse. Not the case?
THAT is a plan. Can't believe I didn't have that written down.
it's not like you're going to be skipping stops

Wait, it's July....how cold are we talking? I wear a Hoorag or two here in the winter to cover exposed skin, and that's enough, down to 20 or 30F. And those are infinitely smaller to pack, smaller than a bandanna. We talking colder than that?

Nope, not with a Hoorag or bandanna underneath the ballcap to wick sweat and keep the sun off my ears.
I've seen pics of that set up in one of the threads.
Didn't even know those exist.
I bought the folding lug wrench years ago for the Hot rod, I need to put it in the SlingShot

a T bar with a sliding knuckle works well too
This would be quite helpful on that bald noggin
Man... I had nothing... Just luck I guess... All these are great suggestions... But most importantly, RD's top like @Slingrazor mentioned... Reflecting on my long trips, boy would that have made a difference...
One day!

Curb feelers so you know when you're getting close to the guardrails?

Knock on wood! Don't be throwing salt at Jared... I can survive... But did you see what he posted in the motivation section? Not sure who's on his side...

20's - 30's pretty much... but I'm talking at night so you won't have any sun to help warm you.

Imma have to check the weather on that one...besides the fact that I don't intend to do any night driving after the first day leaving home, I'm questioning the weather forecast here. I grew up pretty close to the arctic circle myself, and I don't remember any 20 degree nights in July. Besides.....global warming.
Display MoreTire plug kit - got
bottle of Slime - got, but it's old, I'll get a new one
12 volt portable air compressor - was thinking about that. Probably need that, huh?
needle nose pliers and regular pliers - got, plus vice grips
Spare 40 and 50 amp fuses - don't got
Assortment of smaller fuses - got
Qt of motor oil - got
Qt of antifreeze - don't got. Ya think?
I purchased a quart of Antifreeze from our local dealer and always carry in my Sling.
If you look on Amazon you will find the Slime Tire Repair kit that has a 12 volt compressor in the kit. Has everything you need.
I would also second the Ruptured Duck Top. My top has saved my butt a few times and really comes in handy for rain.
Also the recommendation for the spare key is a must. ILCO has a Kawasaki key blank that works for Polaris.
I forgot you need COOKIES also

Yeah, I have a plan for that...and another little trick is to freeze some of your drinking water bottles. That way they help keep everything else cold, and you have cold water longer.
I bought a 2 gallon capacity thermos that says on the label that it keeps hot items hot for 12 hours and cold items cold for 24 hours. It should be perfect for traveling when my wife is with me. I fill it half way with her hot coffee and the rest of the way with with my cold soda. I intend to try it out on the way to Maggie Valley

And when empty it turns into a handy 'truckers bomb' urinal

And then THAT will be warm for 12 hours, amiright?
