Appreciate it, but didnt know I was going to break the socket wrench => needing the breaker bar. And, we thought we could do it without the air wrench, and didn't admit defeat until after 9 am. No one around here rents them. Oh, well.

Well, it actually took a couple tries. First try, both sides done, Heather and her dad took the car out for a test drive. Back in 3 min. The "stabilitrack error" and "traction control" lights were lit. And the steering wheel was not centered when driving straight. After some more driving, some discussion, and some research, I took the front wheels off again (so much easier with pneumatic tools!) and looked for a misalignment on one of the struts. Apparently if you're off your line a bit, all of those errors and lights are common with the Traverse. Sure enough, found one of the struts had deviated from its line, probably when I was tightening the nut with the air wrench. After the adjustment, and reassembly, the test drive was good. All errors and the steering wheel misalignment all gone.
Long day. Frustrating, but good to be done. Now we have to deal with some noises in the front end, but I'm going to take it back to the guy who rebuilt the transmission and make him fix it, since it sounds like there's something loose in there, like a motor mount or something.
