Which master cylinder brace is the one to go with?
Preferably a direct bolt-on without moding the frame.
Master Cylinder Brace

The DDM brace is easy to install.

I have the DDM one but it didn't make much of a difference on my 2017. I bled the shit out of the brakes and it was a 10x improvement.

The brace keeps your firewall from flexing when you mash the brake pedal. It does not change anything with the brake system other than that. If you do not use your brakes hard, you would would never even feel the difference.

Well its suppose to take out the spongy feel the brakes have/had. It did nothing in my case the pedal feel was exactly the same. Bleeding the brakes on the other hand removed the spongy feel.

While we're on the subject, does anyone have a template for the Alpha brace that they would be willing to duplicate and send to me? I installed mine on my 1st Sling then tossed it. It got wrecked and now I'd like to install the brace on my new one. The brakes are nice and tight on this one after the ABS brake bleed got figured out but I do feel it fade when I get into it hard - or mash it as @FunCycle says.
-
What the brace helps the most is what fun said. It stops the firewall flex when you step hard on the brakes. Because the firewall doesn't flex it reduces the possibility of getting air through the brake line fittings, where they connect to the master cylinder, which are not designed to flex.

I think I tossed my template after the install, but it would be easy enough to do a rubbing.

There's blood in the water!

The brace was all the rage when slings were coming out of the factory with "mushy" brakes.
There are new procedures, and even for a while a warranty service for mushy brakes that works great. It is air in the ABS think-a-ma-jiggie, and there are ways to get that air out. Stock brakes should be rock solid. What a brace does on top of that, I dunno, other than take your money.

I knew it was wide open as soon as I posted, but every once in a while ya just gotta rub one out!

Pop the hood and get someone else to mash the brakes hard and you look at the master cylinder and see how much it moves. Then you will know.

I don't feel like I need it under ordinary braking. I do feel the pedal fade when I mash it, however the ABS is also working which I have never gotten used to. Sometimes a guy just wants to come into the driveway sideways and it won't let me. I probably wouldn't buy the brace again, but since I have it I'd like to put it on.
@BryanL before you take yours off to rub one out - let's see if anyone comes up with one. I'll let you know. Thanks, man!
